    Why do people think it's clever and trendy to pay umpteen quid for a coffee when you can have one at home for pennies.
    And please don't give me the ****** of it being a social event.

    If the comparison is with instant, you’ve got a point.

    but it’s worth paying more for a good cup of coffee (again I’m not suggesting Costa is great coffee but it’s better than Starbucks).

    I’m at a time in my life I’d rather pay a bit more for a quality coffee (see also beer, wine).

    It's called capitalism Mr Badger. I dont get sucked in to the coffee brigade. Some people in the office must spend close to 15 quid a week on their daily coffee
