It’s a crazy situation, we sell two attacking players to two of our relegation rivals! Although we’ve not really been good enough we’ve also given an advantage to others. I thought Conway said they weren’t gonna do anything crazy!?
Tbf, at the time we sold them neither Hull or Wigan were seen as relegation rivals. Moore went before the season started and I think Hull were 9th.
Wigan were always expected to struggle this season. Agree about Hull. No one was really talking about them for relegation until late Feb when it was beginning to look like they couldn’t win a game without Bowen & the other lad they flogged
No they weren't struggling cos they have Moore lol. Seriously, Mads did something to get under Kieffer s skin at the away fixture and it seemed to work, hope he does the same today,
If I was Gehard today, I’d be working on Moore not getting the ball in the first place. If balls keep coming into our box, he’s going to win some IMO
But that’s not the point. You can’t really account for the surge of form they’ve shown since Christmas. Although they spend loads more than us they still have one of the lowest budgets in the league & virtually everyone had them as a bottom 8 side before the season. It’s like in the Prem, Sheff Utd & Burnley look like finishing in the top half but it still would’ve been madness if any of Norwich, Villa, Bournemouth would’ve sold them any of their best players last summer as they were expected to be rivals
Wigan have been down there with us most of the season. They've pulled away recently, but as others have pointed out, Moore has been crucial in that.
If we accept that players now disproportionately hold the upper hand in these kind of negotiations and that Wilks and Moore and many others, were going anyway, regardless of our desires then it's very difficult to pick which club they go to on the basis of they might go to a relegation rival. There were probably 8-10 clubs u could have confidently said at the start of the season who wouldn't be fighting relegation and that's being generous. Do we only sell to them? Cos they wouldn't have come in for our players anyway. No one's complaining about the 2 that went to Stoke! If we'd had a flyer I guess the cry would have been ......fancy selling Pinnock to a promotion rival. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
I’m not worried about Kieffer’s injury time goal. I’m more worried about the one he scores after 6 minutes followed by 84 minutes of aimless BFC huff n’ puff and wasted set pieces.
We offer nothing at set pieces and corners and the definition of madness has been practised all season time and time again same taker same outcome .
I’m more worried that we are going to turn out like we did against Stoke... and Moore gets a hat trick...
