Chaplin non existent yesterday and missed a great chance... Woodrow has gone missing big style.. He doesn't look bothered... Brown has played upfront this season with only 4 goals. Brown grafts and is a winger... Play him there... Halme was so effective yesterday upfront and won headers... Schmidt hasnt pulled up trees but if a chance dropped to him instead of our other strikers i feel hed stick it away... Styles needs to start... 20 chances yesterday... We need to start scoring more... Yes im critical of our defence and errors but our strikers are just as much to blame
Schmidt gets unfair stick when he hasn't had a proper chance for me. Why do we sign strikers and not play them or play weird formations that don't benefit them?
Problem with Schmidt is he barely touches the ball when he is on the pitch - there is no doubt he can finish but he isnt involved enough - no idea why he doesnt have more of the ball when he is on the field but he must average one touch every 15 minutes
IMO we have 2 top class strikers in Chaplin and Woodrow. Both would benefit from a target man. But we haven’t got one. Woodrow always played better when Moore was playing. Schmidt could also come good playing alongside a target man. But I don’t think the problem lies with the strikers. The problems lie in the service to the strikers. I would drop Brown and Mowatt and replace them with Thomas and Styles. We also need to go 451. The 343 just isn’t working - we are too lightweight at the back.
Chaplin as got some sort of quality but not a striker and will score 1 in 6 chances. Woodrow as gone missing but hes playing out of position.
He is playing out of position but he shouldn’t act as though he doesn’t recognise the ball when he’s given it imo .
he had plenty of a Chances at Luton that he should have done better with. Mind that goes for everybody with set pieces too, can’t remember the last time I got excited at a corner or attacking free kick!
Wel, he should have been on the end of that Styles cross in the last minute if that's all we're expecting him to do.
