Quite a good interview other than the EFL appears not to be responsible for anything, ever.

Roan: Was the EFL lax in the application of the rules?

Parry: "No - he passed the test, albeit it self-certifications and he provided the assurances. What none of our rules can legislate for is an owner changing his mind."

So, he wrote on a piece of paper "I am a fit an propper person, signed mi mam"

I've a feeling they'll crawl out of it, as it implicates the EFL letting an unfit person take over the club in June. The EFL is a useless piece of dog do dah, we all know it is a club run by & for the bigger clubs.

The irony here for me is that Parry is a classic poacher turned wannabe gamekeeper. He was instrumental as the first FA Premier League Chief Executive in helping to fragment the game and start the funnelling of cash to 20 clubs through the broadcasting deals, the health of the game was not on his agenda back then, and I know I sound bitter, but he's crying over a mess he helped create.

The EFL have a track record of appointing poor leaders, many of whom have only added to the problems the game now faces. Shaun Harvey, Brian Mawhinney et al.

That came out last week....apparently it forms the basis of their appeal.

Yes I cant quite get my head around that
We shouldnt be given the normal punishment given to well meaning owners that just ran out of money. Our owner is bent so we shouldnt have the penalty - it looks even dafter if you write it down
I would have thought an additional penalty rather than a lesser one should apply in these circumstances

I agree I think that makes the problem worse, I would think they have no right to appeal in that case
