Typical that a 12 point deduction which could help us, isn't a routine one.

Surely we'd take legal action if the deduction was overturned and we got relegated off the back of it.

It's like me cutting my own arm off and then arresting myself because I caused the injury.

Force majeure doesn’t seem to be affecting teams in the lower leagues, who must be worse off than Wigan as a result of COVID, or perhaps they haven’t overspent on players and wages like Wigan have to get into this position. Very convenient excuse.

we are still 3 pts behind Boro & 4 pts behind Hull, 5pts behind Huddersfield, Charlton & Stoke. Personally I do not see us avoiding the drop, even if Wigan do get the 12pts deduction.

No chance of winning an appeal. They know the rules and they are clear as day. No way back for them.

22nd spot is achievable especially how Boro are performing and if we can achieve that and Wigan get the points deduction we are still in with a great shout imo.

well, you have a point. But we simply must beat Luton & Wigan. Looking at all the remaining games we will still be depending on other results helping us. Would be nice if the future of Leeds, Forest & Brentford was decided before we play them, They might rest players then.

I think it’s more like sawing through the bone and muscle etc so your arm is hanging on by the skin, then bumping into someone and blaming them when it falls off.

Its a level playing field - all clubs affected equally with the pandemic - just those with bad management and living beyond their means that are now in trouble.

Having read the article I think people assuming the force majeure is related to Covid is wrong.
I think they are going to claim there is no way anyone could predict what the owner did.
Still don’t think it’s enough to be successful though.

I see players are only going to receive 20% of wages too until further notice.
Lastly it’s being reported that Robinson can leave for 1.5 million if relegated but would have been valued at 6million if stayed up, which makes the admin thing even more bizarre.

If they get away with it you’ll see ten or more championship clubs and most of league one and two go into administration to clear debt cheaply, and rob their creditors of what they are owed. Easy enough to find a new owner to take it on debt free when the old owner is likely still going to be involved.

Not football debts obviously, but the local businesses that supply them, hmrc too. If the efl open up that can of worms by letting Wigan off I’m not sure they could take what would happen as a result. It would be carnage and kill off dozens of businesses indirectly as a result.

I don’t think even the efl are that daft.

Just been on the radio that the EFL have rejected Wigan's claims that Covid caused their financial problems.

Though it's probably not going to make any difference to us now.
