    Last September my wife got us tickets to see Hamilton the Musical in London. It was incredible. Its about the founding fathers of America but all done through rap music and street dance, and cast using black and Hispanic actors. The soundtrack is insane.

    For those with kids, it was written by (and originally starred on Broadway) Lin Manuel Miranda who wrote the Moana soundtrack and played the street lighter in Mary Poppins Returns. There's alse a great video of him freestyle rapping about the US costitution to Barack Obama.

    Anyway, post-corona I'd massively recommend seeing it, even if musicals aren't your thing. But if you like the sound of it a full film version of the stage production launches on Disney + today and has had 5 star reviews. And the soundtrack is on Spotify.

    Might not be for everyone but worth a go...

    I did think I should maybe caveat the thread title, but then I thought I might draw in fans of the racing driver, the disgraced politicians, and the place.

    I am not usually a musical fan - Hamilton though was fantastic. Utterly encapsulating. The music, the story, everything on another level to other productions I've seen. Seen it twice and would happily pay to see it a third time.

    I was expecting something historical and racey. "The Lovers Of Lord Nelson", kind of thing.

    I went to see Hamilton a couple of years ago. It is like nothing else. It’s funny in parts, and tells a rather complicated story, (with some dubious alterations to historical accuracy, allegedly). My daughter thought it was brilliant. Me, less so, I found it hard to keep up! Nevertheless, definitely worth a watch.

    Much preferred “Come from Away” (about the stranded passengers in Newfoundland after 9/11), and also “Dear Evan Hansen” which really is an incredible show about social anxiety/ teenagers and the impact of social media.
