This is taking the piss now.......at what point do they not get that 99.99999999% of the population are against all forms of racism, wether that be in the US, UK it anywhere else for that matter, we all agree that police brutality against blacks in America is wrong and a police overhaul is majorly needed, but why are we seeing things like this being brought up daily? For me it’s shoving negativeness towards the issue of racism as opposed to educating the minority that need it?
It’s mass hysteria caused IMO by coronavirus. Delhi 6 - black monkey syndrome. Anything done or said right now that’s not the norm and there’s an instant wailing and flaying of arms.
But once you *do* know what it's about... Alan Partridge : 'Sunday Bloody Sunday'. What a great song. It really encapsulates the frustration of a Sunday, doesn't it? You wake up in the morning, you've got to read all the Sunday papers, the kids are running round, you've got to mow the lawn, wash the car, and you think "Sunday, bloody Sunday!". Aidan Walsh : I really hate to do this to you, Alan, but it's actually a song about... Paul Tool : Yeah, Bloody Sunday is actually about a massacre in Derry in 1972. Alan Partridge : A massacre? Ugh. I'm not playing that again
Where do we draw the line with it though? Genuine honest nice not racist people dont know what to say these days Incase it’s worded bloody wrong or wether it might be taken in wrong context!!
I do have sympathy with that point. But I do think it is important we never stop listening, learning and progressing. Plus, I bloody love Alan Partridge.
100% agree but removing slapstick comedy off télé and changing names like black boards to white boards Doesn’t educate folk one bit..........
99.99% of the time i have absolutely no problems in worrying about what to say or how to word it. And yet 100% of the time people are discriminated against. But you seem to think the bigger issue is that you can't say blackboard. Which, in fact, you can.
Well the version of that song I have seen has the chord of 'G' at some point. Therefore by association all songs with this chord will need to be reviewed. Work will continue to identify other chords in another review once resources are available. It's all under control.
It's one of hundreds of bawdy rugby songs sung at the after match drinking sessions along with Maggie May, I put my Finger in the Woodpeckers Hole etc The reason being that you did the hand actions for each word including Coming 4 2 Carry Me Home and so on.
Yes that’s why it’s a strange song for Rugby to adopt at international games , given its crude roots in rugby apres match culture .
Not really... it may have changed in recent years but in my playing days most of the crowd were either current or former players...virtually the only way to get tickets was for the club you were a member of to apply and you bought the tickets from your club, if it was oversubscribed there would be a draw for them.
Well it was around in the 70’s as an after game standard , and Offiah was really a Rugby League player
