have a read of this , rotherham wasnt the only place, theres were plenty of others https://www.spectator.co.uk/article...onest-conversation-about-asian-grooming-gangs
And the bit that you missed Tommy 26 is that no one on this thread is defending councils that made mistakes. But you bringing it up - that puts you on fairly dodgy ground. But then you've defended the indefensible before based on similar 'Nationalistic' views.
Fair enough. Personally I know a lot of people who are of a similar age to me and have inadvertently used language that is is no longer appropriate but they definitely meant no offence. I would say that I only know two people that I would class as out and out racists.
You’ve just banged it in full reverse there Donny, so it it happen and I’m not ******* stupid then ? But you still believe that ‘there’s no right side’ ?? Ffs so what then Donny did the girls deserve it. ? Political correctness personified, you’re a disgrace for thinking like that, no right side Aye alreight Donny.
The family members I mentioned are definitely racists in the way that they're brexit voting, blame everything on foreigners and bring them up at any opportunity kinds. There was someone I used to work with who I have and the misfortune of actually having t witness him racially abuse people and who would regularly come in to work proudly telling us he had racially abused people on his way to work or on the previous day. He is someone who would be well known to quite a few people on here too Some of the others it could be argued it's just the way they talk but I'd say it's a bit TOO much to be excused really and the rest are quite happy to talk about 'f***ing p***s' with no shame. I do believe that a lot of the time it depends on what industry you work in and therefore the intelligence level of a lot you work with.
Genuine question but where has he defended the council's and said (or even hinted) that the girls deserved it?
tell that to every woman who’s been raped or sexually abused. Some of whom were probably white. We must have missed your outrage there.
He said blaming councils was stupid, but as Rotherham proved the council was amongst the public services that was to blame. He also posted that ‘there’s no right side’ when it’s obvious what the wrong side was and it certainly wasn’t the girls involved.
The thread is about racism and how fear of being accused of it stifles debate and action. Do keep up.
He's completely wrong about blaming councils. There were many people within councils who acted disgracefully. Not all, and I don't think it's fair to say the entire council, but quite a lot. I also think there's more to it than simply the racial aspect as grooming has had a blind eye turned to it for years regardless of the races involved. That being said the racial aspect was certainly relevant with the refusal to act by some. On the other point I've no idea what he was getting at but I am as sure as I can be that he wasn't saying the right side being either the girls or the rapists. He meant something else but I don't know what.
Plenty of individuals, groups have covered up abuse over the years - this has often gone to the very top of government and different organisations. As a nation we have let down large groups of children going back years - church, children's homes, football, gymnastics clubs, swimming clubs. Investigating it just spaffs money up the wall apparently
