Can't be till September at the earliest. can it?

July/August to finish this season and then probably a much reduced close season. It could even be October I guess. It would be good to know this when evaluating the season ticket offer...

I'm thinking October. But probably behind closed doors.

Everything hinges on the success of the track and trace system, and the speed at which a vaccine is developed and distributed.

I would be amazed if we are allowed to sit together at Oakwell this calendar year. Happy, but amazed.

I don't see why it cant be September. It seems as though worldwide numbers are falling. I'm hoping in a months time things will be clearer. My lad's desperate to play football again so I'm hoping things will be ok by then.

I agree. Social distancing being reduced needs to be a gradual thing to see if any spikes happen and if they do that the track and trace system can deal with it. July for near normality is too soon. By the August bank holiday people would hope to be able to enjoy it without worrying about distance still though.

I would say end of September early October. As for will fans be allowed to attend games? Hard to say. We have come a long way in two months but that's a big ask.
Imagine trying to do track and trace if people are attending football again.

Late September but I don't think fans will be going back at the same time.

    Hard to say.
It seems almost inevitable to me there will be second winter wave.
I can’t see mass gatherings happening for 12 months personally

I can see the season staring September with no fans and fans being allowed in early 2021

Impossible to say at this stage. If we stay on the same track of reducing infections then things could be back to normal very quickly. The release of restrictions will accelerate so long as things are going well.

That would see the current season starting up again some time in June, it finishing by the end of July, and starting up again at the start of September. I doubt we would see fans at matches from the start of next season, however.

On the other hand if there is an increase again it could set us back a very long time. Not because it will take a long time to get it back under control, but more because it’s clear that the virus still has the propensity to spread very quickly again if unchecked, which will lead to a much more gradual, cautious release of restrictions.

Infections (and deaths sadly) are already increasing again after the VE day bank holiday. Yorkshire has one of the highest rates in the UK at the moment.

Not sure where you’ve seen that? New infections are steadily declining from the figures I’ve seen. 2013 new infections yesterday and that was on a day where still catching up after a bank holiday.
The expected spike after VE Day didn’t materialise from what I can gather which is a massive positive giving the amount of mingling that appeared to go on at the time.
