all they were bothered about was the phoney war of brexit. They won the war after inventing an enemy. Very worrying times.

Imo I think for some it’s more about the stance they have bought into rather than the integrity of the govt decisions/policies.
More so in USA where it’s more important for the Trump Geeks to protect/agree with him than the actual dumb deeds he does imo

haha, more phoney remain lies. Any government that puts the NHS ‘up for grabs’ would be committing political suicide especially what’s happened recently. Now if they opened the door to American pharmaceutical companies seeking to sell drugs to the NHS cheaper that what we’re paying for them now that would be a good thing surely? Chlorinated chicken, no expert on the matter but it must be safe or the Americans would t eat it!! How do you know our beef is what it says? It wasn’t long ago that a bit of Horse was added, can’t remember any deaths from that!!

UK govt figures are that 1 in 66 UK residents gets food poisoning in a year
USA govt figures are that 1 in 6 USA residents get food poisoning in a year

That may be related to their food production standards - not the only factor I am sure but hard to say it doesnt have a major influence

1). American drug prices are generally significantly *higher* than in the UK/EU
For Example, albuterol inhalers are $50 to $100 *each* in the USA. In Ireland, 3EU
Amlodipine 10mg is 7.95EU for 28 in Ireland, $51.99 in the USA.

2). If the NHS is put up for sale, sold and gone by the 2024 election. What can you do about it? Its too late, its gone. The government majority is large enough to win any votes in Parliament and ignore any sized marches or demonstrations. Now, if you had a political party that had a history of selling off national assets and were unlikely to win the next election due to the backlash over COVID and/or Brexit, do you think they'd care? They would lose their seats but would walk into directorships.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think a wholesale selling of the NHS will happen. But they will sell off some bits and pieces in ways that would be beneficial to their backers if they find a way to do it. Like they already have with cleaning, security, car parking, logistics and other bits and pieces.

Don't see that they will have much choice if the USA insist on it being part of a deal (which they will). They, not us will have the upper hand in any negotiations.
Boris knows this, but also knew he couldn't sell that to the electorate so decided that lying was his best course of action. As others have said, once done it will be impossible to undo.

They also know that we can't get better deals with Japan, South Korea, Canada or Vietnam - its written into their agreements with the EU that they have to renegotiate if anyone else is offered better terms.

    Chlorinated chicken isnt dangerous.
Its used to kill all the ***** that the woeful US farming standards have produced in the meat BEFORE chlorination. Still, if you're ok with battery farming, terrible animal welfare etc then your cheap American chicken should be right up your alley. It's not like we have much choice after brexit because we're desperate for a deal at any price. Trump has us bent over like Stormy Daniels.

I’m astonished at the amount of experts on here.
From USA food standards, USA agricultural, trade negotiators, Animal welfare experts, USA pharmaceutical price experts and Brexit experts. If I would’ve known I would’ve kept my trap shut!!!

You don't need to keep your trap shut. Just do some basic research or ask an actual expert (plenty on social media) instead of listening to John in the pub and Karen on Facebook.

Happens a lot doesn't it. Usually like this:

    1. Makes daft comment.

    2. Gets presented with facts, sources and evidence.

    3. Makes another daft comment ignoring point 2 then dissapears.

Sorry bud but I’m not on Facebook n don’t know anyone called John in the pub(they’re shut anyway). The basic research I’ve done tells me that chlorinated chicken is just as safe as Uk/EU chicken. The US are the 2nd biggest exporter of chicken to over 100 countries. That wouldn’t be so if it was dangerous.
Not sure on how they treat them before they die, don’t really care tbh, the end product is death. That’s what they are bred for. If you have issues with this buy your chicken from farm shops. Just feel like the chlorinated chicken line and Selling the NHS line gets trotted out everytime regarding a trade deal with the US.

theres nothing political thats impossible to undo, thats why we have regular elections,if the tories compromise the health, saftey and well being of the population then i'm sure they'll be made to pay at the next elections.

people keep fretting over chloronated chicken, how many of these people know what goes into our food to make it safe for consumption and to give it extra shelf life?, additives,E numbers, flavourings, gas flushed pre packed meat,(particularly chicken),etc etc,

If you voted to leave Europe, then you probably followed Michael Gove's advice not to listen to experts so just don't worry about it mate.
