    If he’s basing that on the COVID symptoms tracking app (which I downloaded a few weeks ago), I don’t think that’s a particularly reliable measure and not something we should be basing decisions on. I don’t know what % of the population has downloaded it, but I’d guess it’s no more than 1%.

    However, if millions of people truly have contracted it then that’s very good news, provided that does provide immunity, which I don’t think has been confirmed yet.

    I am afraid I dont believe it has gone out of society and would need some good evidence rather than one scientist postulating a theory that it might have done - without really giving a good reason

    That said he makes a valid point about the testing and symptoms
