    It doesn't seem to have affected Chinese or East Asian peoples as much does it? Perhaps their genes are more clued up to this brand of virus? Or maybe the People's Army was sifting through various viruses trying to find one that only affects their enemies; current or future? I guess that sort of stuff went on during the Cold War, don't know about now.

    This was retweeted by Clarke Oduor that I noticed when scrolling through Twitter. Race is a real issue. I disagree with Sol Campbell on his tweet but to go on about the "race card" is belittling imo.

    There is a massive difference isn't there? One is raising a very valid point about potential racism in an educational facility, the other is claiming that a virus that has killed a quarter of a million people was man made deliberately to target black people. They aren't comparable in any way shape or form and just because two black men have both mentioned things doesn't mean that they're both as valid as each other. One reasonable comment doesn't validate a completely unreasonable comment from someone who has spent his life making the same claims at every opportunity he can.

    I'm not a fan of it except in exceptional circumstances. I don't think this fits 'the race card' at all but it definitely fits with his words in the past where he has claimed he hasn't been given jobs purely because of his race. That's the very definition of playing the race card imo.

    I disagree. If all your life you have to be conscious of your race, then of course you're going to feel that this is an issue with everything to do with your life. And he has the right to say that.

    The most infuriating thing about him posting conspiracy nonsense like this is that it not only undermines all the valid arguments that he's made about race over the years, but also affects the perceived legitimacy of commentators who actually do have important things to say about why the virus is affecting non-white communities so much more than it is white ones.

    I’ve just been listening to R4 (I know! Miners son too) the scientist was on that discovered the numbers re ethnicity, and it affects Asian (S and E) people more than Caucasian but not as starkly as the stats for black people.
