I live opposite farmers fields. last year I put decking in by back garden. I lifted about 40 square meters of turf/grass and soil and put it into sacks. Was gonna take em to tip but in end just emptied them into fields. Though I did wonder if it’s still classed as fly tipping
That's good news for you Helen. My bin men just emptied my grey bin for the first time last week since the beginning of March.... not even the blue and brown bins have been emptied either until this week Starting to get paranoid
I know, I think they should have been looking into some sort of booking system so you can only come by appointment to start with
They’ve just opened the HWRC sites near us there’ll be a big queue this weekend most folk have had a reight clearout. As for green bin etc emptying the problem is your waste mostly goes for recycling and energy from waste plants and if these places have stayed shut during lockdown your council will have had no outlet for it. Green waste usually goes to a compost manufacturer, plastic and cardboard waste is separated and packed into bales for re use, your household waste is often sorted and recycled to avoid landfill. Our bin men aren't bad, but a thank you note taped to the bins doesn't do any harm when it comes to extra waste being taken in the future.
Got to admit, they did a reight job ere an all, above and beyond, I gave em 20.00 quid an teld em to get a breakfast, 2nd time nar they've done a great job.
Yes, quite right. As we’re all in this together, me and my neighbour work as a team. I throw my cuttings on his lawn, and he throws his on mine.
Green waste is expensive to process and councils have been looking for an excuse to stop collecting it. Some have introduced charging for it, over and above the council tax. Now BMBC have found an excuse to stop it, I won't be surprised if we don't see it return at all.
It’s one of the things I miss most, going to a park and watching squirrels at play and asking them if they want to see my nuts
hope there weren't any horses in the field - don't know what the medical term is but if a horse eats grass cuttings it can kill them.
bugger the squirrels - watching the er hamster (X) is more interesting! Hope niece is continuing to improve
No it's a football field. Also where the gardens are is more of a banking with trees then the field behind it.
