He's with us on Thursday night. Played over 30 games a season for four straight years for Barnsley. Signed by Mark Robins, played under Hill and Flicker, only to be relegated under Wilson. Was in the Scottish PFA Team of the Year before heading to Oakwell as well. Definitely asking about Mido after that feature in the Chronicle today. Frimpong is a good one as nobody has really spoken about when he joined (I don't think).
If i remember rightly, he was big into music? So, who would he like to play alongside (music wise), and if he was to pick 3 former BFC players to make up a Boy Band, who would he pick?
What was his pre-match routine? I don't think I've ever seen anyone expend so many calories on the pitch, the lad ran his blood to water. Why did he play for the Republic of Ireland? What was the reason behind the switch back to Scotland, never to play a game for them?
Didn’t he, Luke Steele and a couple of others have a “Come Dine with me” thing going on? If so, who was the best cook, and what was Jim’s signature dish?
Good lad is Jim, one of many non-local ex-reds who’ve set up home here long after leaving us. So much for it been a shithole eh? Always friendly with fans on a night out too. Wikipedia says he was born in Alexandria, Egypt. Is that right? How did that come about? If Vaz Te & Drinkwater don’t leave & Butterfield & Perkins stay fit does he think we could’ve got in the play offs that season? What went so drastically wrong when Flitcroft got the job full time? I’d love his thoughts on some of the players he played with at Barnsley. His fellow Scot Garry O’Connor, Adam Hammill, Frimpong, Paddy McCourt, Mellis, Mido, Jennings etc. There seemed to be a lot of talented players who didn’t deliver.
How's his music career doing these days... is he still playing and writing songs or as he given it up as a bad job lol... Get him to give us a tune..
Remember him calling Frimping,a frimposter on Twitter after his first training session, don’t think he rated young frimmy did jimmy
Did he enjoy playing full back when required. And which position did he prefer. Middle or wide. Great interview with Macca by the way Ben. One of my all time Barnsley heroes. Best CH to play for the club.
He was born in Alexandria in West Dunbartonshire Scotland. I once passed it on my way to Balloch. It's around 15 miles north-West from Glasgow I believe.
Bloody hell . I clicked it on Wikipedia next to his name & it took me to the Egyptian city. Your explanation definitely makes more sense
With him doing is coaching badges at oakwell and still living in the area would he be interested in working there if a job was available when he retires from playing?
