If they play behind closed doors then less stewards, Police, ambulance, St Johns etc would be needed. Also there would be no fans travelling too. This article makes no sense at all ..... or am I completely missing something here.

He doesn’t say that there will be the requirement for the same amount of those personnel you’ve mentioned at rearranged games.

Playing at neutral grounds behind closed doors. What’s the point? Just cancel it.

A bus full per per fixture, plus the individual players and officials into the home ground and maybe a few to get the bus for the away team. Doesn't sound a lot to me....

Yes I can see that but that would be the same wherever the games were played. As would the numbers I originally stated.

    But anyway.

    behind closed doors

I think clubs stand to lose money by playing, not gain.

lower league clubs will do definitely, gate receipts, bar takings etc are massively important. I was thinking about the PL and TV cash, although I’m sure they’ve probably considered a deal somehow on next years money already

Couldn't they keep the venue secret to avoid unwanted supporters turning up? Come to think of it they could keep the date secret as well. And who was playing who.

It's becoming a farce, the longer we go without finishing the season the less people will care.
Yet the premier League and probably top eight of the championship will still be desperate to play the games even after most folk have lost all interest.
It needs a top level club to go bust to make football get a grip.

They are so desperate to ‘finish’ the season, to get results, that this is stripping the last few vestiges of soul from the game. I don’t know why they don’t just let the pools panel sit for all the remaining games - it’s the next logical step.

Aren't the pools panel sitting to keep the pools going?

As mentioned in the link I posted the neutral ground flaw will be when a team is relegated who played less home games than a team who survived. Then it will be considered a grossly unfair solution.

Just end the season now and stop pretending that integrity is the driving reason for finishing the season.
