I waste nothing fresh. But then i am the worlds tightest man and only buy what I need and shop twice a week to avoid wastage. Weekend... Friday. I got some diced steak from the farm shop. Going to use that with the mushrooms that have seen better days and make a steak and mushroom ale pie. Saturday. I have some chicken to use up so ill knock up a stirfry. Sunday. Got to have lamb so special mixed grill. Monday bbq chicken breasts and ill knock up a lasagne for tuesday/wednesday.
I love cooking Chinese stir fries and stews, and family and friends love eating it too. Doing it yourself means it's much healthier than a takeaway, and tastes better too. Favourite recipe book authors are Fuchsia Dunlop, Ken Hom and Ching-He Huang. Some of the ingredients can be hard to find, you have to find a Chinese supermarket to get some of them, but the results are worth it.
Chicken Saag tonight Chicken and Chorizo paella tomorrow Slow cooker lamb with rosemary and garlic on Sunday
This is what l meant by pressing out with your fingers. I do this and then roll it to get it thinner.
We nearly always cook from scratch, we don’t bake our own bread, (buy biscuits and cake too) and the biggest food waste product we have is bread. still both working full time so the biggest difference ATM is that we shop less often which has made us slightly more careful about planning.
Cheers , were doing them for tea, I'll send you the pictures . We're currently discussing (arguing) about topping. I'm going for things that are almost en-route to the grey wheelie bin, ie mushrooms , peppers, onions. The wife wants meat feast. So.......it'll Probably be meat feast.

And tonight's dish: braised chicken with dried shiitake mushrooms https://www.thewednesdaychef.com/th...ed-chicken-with-dried-shiitake-mushrooms.html
Abso-bloody-lutely. Sunday dinners are great but Monday re-heats can be superb, if not better. To braise your beef, lamb, pork in Sunday's gravy is a sheer delight.
