Our grandson, Jensen, is one year old today. I can't believe how quickly the time has flown by. Without a shadow of doubt, our family gives me the strength to face up to the challenging times we're all experiencing, both physically and emotionally.
We can't wait for this situation to improve enough so we can travel down to Chester and smother our grandchildren in cuddles and kisses.:D
Thank you for tolerating my ramblings. I realise just what a lucky man I am to have the family I do.

Not selfish at all that, mate.

These times are showing us all what family means, and the restrictions placed upon us, just how lucky we are.

Thank you, Ian. My son Christopher & I have wondered just how big the wee man will become when he's older. His Dad is 6ft 8 & I'm 6ft 3.:D

Yes, we are all in good spirits, despite what's going on.

Yeah, I had major issues leading up to and over Xmas, but all that is behind me/us. Looking back and how things were and what they are now, its actually turned out to be the best thing that could have ever happened to me :)

Onwards and upwards, and I'm more than my old self...

Shame we can't go anywhere, and the sooner this lockdown ends, then life will be great. And we can get back to oakwell on rantings of who should be played in what position

Family is so important. Looking forward to seeing my folks down in Barnsley when lockdown ends. Will be just another distanced chat in the garden. Till now at least I can speak to my Mum regularly on the phone. Dad sadly is nearly totally deaf, so Mum has to relay messages to him.

A few weeks ago, I had decided, after 52 years, to chalk 'Sod It' on my time with the club, due the way the suits had ruined the feel good factor from last year and treat the fan base with utter contempt and disdain with their policy of non communication.
However, the current situation has made me think in a somewhat different way. Football is a total irrelevance in comparison to other issues. Therefore, problems I have with these owners also feel insignificant. There's a distinct possibility that I may return to Oakwell, renew my season ticket and bore everyone senseless round me with my inane ramblings once more!:D

I couldn't have put it better myself. We too had decided the exact same. I've got the money ready to renew anyway, and will probably end up doing so haha

I echo your sentiments buddy. My smallest grandchildren only live a mile away but it may as be on the moon at the moment.
Simply cannot wait to be able to pick them up and cover them with kisses. Football is very much secondary in my thoughts.

I know the feeling. My grandson was one in February and missing him badly. Only lives in Silkstone but at the minute even that is too far. Add in my daughter is a consultant at Barnsley general the pain of missing him and the worry around her job makes these hard times. Got a postcard from him 2 days ago saying missing you grandma and grandad that was a real tear jerker. All any of us can do is look forward to the time when some normality returns but it does seem a long way off. Hope your family stays safe and you see the little one soon.

Happy birthday to little Jensen BigLil. I've got a nephew called Jensen over in Donny
and he's turning out to be a right livewire. As others have said, it's at times like this,
we genuinely appreciate that we've been blessed with close knit loving family members.

My family are spread across Barnsley, Doncaster, Walsall and Poole in Dorset and we
are supporting each other via FaceTime, cell phone and landline as best we can.
Hopefully in the not too distant future, things might start to improve and we can get
back to some semblance of normality.

that is in no way selfish matey....in fact you are probably the most unselfish bloke that I have ever met ( well apart from the time you made me run back to the coach at Liverpool to get YOUR ticket). Love to all of you and keep safe fella.
