I watched the Shawshank Redemption and couldn't get it out of my head that I'd seen it before even though I knew I hadn't...then realised I'd read the book
Definitely no Chuck Berry. My abiding memories are:- 1 Rain - lots of it - thank goodness for the polythene sheet we nicked 2 Walking - the road from Buxton to the site was gridlocked so we walked, both ways, felt like 10 miles, probably 4 or 5 3 Miraculously finding my mate after going to the bog 4 Being pissed off because my sister and boyfriend after arriving late got in for nowt after some lads broke the fence down 5 Falling asleep in the gap before Family and missing half their set 6 John Peel's rant about Curved Air
Found this you could be wrong, https://www.derbytelegraph.co.uk/news/nostalgia/chuck-berry-stormed-off-buxton-659757
Just found this, apparently I went in 1972 - very apt considering the OP..... http://www.ukrockfestivals.com/buxton-72.html Having seen it I now remember Uriah Heep, Roy Wood and Vinegar Joe, but have no memory of Wild Angels, Cold Comfort Farm or Sunshine.
BTW Wishbone Ash play at the Holmfirth Picturedrome every year this time its on Oct 23rd all being well
I saw the Martin Turner version a couple of years ago (playing all the early stuff) it was a fantastic gig. Also saw them at the Reading Festival 1976 (if my memory works at all) along with Robin Trower, Soft Machine and The Mahavishnu Orchestra amongst many others.
It's a good job I can keep going back to the top of the page to see what the threads about. " OH ****" scuse me a mo.
Yes and yes. It's a bizarre feeling though, when you turn around and see the thing you are busy trying to do already done. It doesn't happen often, but when it does you think, ******* hell.
I feel like in general I’ve got a good memory. I can remember capital cities of a massive amount of countries, I’m really good with flags, I know quotes from TV shows that nobody should be able to remember. I have no idea when my first pint was, what my first match was. I can’t even remember when my first season ticket was. It’s just not things that ever seemed relevant enough for me to pass to the long term memory, I suppose.
