Mine needs mowing to be honest but without garden collections or access to the tip I'm going to hold off.

I did mine 2 weeks ago and it needs doing again - fortunately I have compost bins so the fact my green bin hasnt been emptied isnt much of an issue at the moment
It also needs scarifying, and some weed and feed applying and for once I should have the time to do it properly

No Most years I plan to do that but never have time to do it - well I usually manage to throw weed and feed on but its been scarified once in the last 10 years. For some reason this year I might have a bit more time on my hands to do it properly for once

I have started using an aerator as i get moss on mine. Would you recommend compost bins for grass cuttings? I dont know what im going to do with it if the tip is going to be closed for foreseeable thats all.

Realise it isnt the end of the world before anyone loses their **** :D

Yes but not if all you are going to put in is grass - you need to mix in some other stuff as well - veg peelings, dead flowers etc

Yep compost bins but don’t put a thick layer of it, mix it with some fibrous stuff, even cardboard is fine. Too thick a layer and you end up with sillage. It also makes a decent mulch around shrubs.

Thanks. Might have to reconsider then. Its going to need cutting as it will be a nightmare otherwise. Might sneak the odd bag into the normal bin.

We have a gardener normally, so we don’t have a lawnmower or anything. Looks like I’ll be out with the kitchen scissors.

The lack of green bin collections may just save me!

Same here. He was with us yesterday. He's got all the best gear and puts a pattern in the lawn.
I used to make a right mess when I used to cut it.

Am I missing something? Has he missed the day allocated for the over 70s and the vulnerable to cut their lawns? Should he have cut it on the 24th?
