Finding it hard to get gravy granular too, so maybe mince in gravy is a good quarantine food??? Who'd have thought lol
And steak. I nipped into Asda for some stewing steak and the shelves were almost empty - the chicken aisle too. One lady phoned into LBC this afternoon. She works on the checkout at a supermarket and she was reporting just how selfish people have become. One bloke bought £300 worth of meat and one woman tried to buy a shopping trolley full of bog roll until she was told she couldn't. Unbelievably selfish on a grand scale.
I can’t see why someone so selfish as to stock pile these products, obviously unworried about others suffering because of it, would be selfless enough to even bother isolating themselves in the first place, as the point of isolation is to protect others. Is what they call a contradiction?
Baby milk - and some ******** are advertising it online at 6x retail price. This isn’t a product that is ‘optional’.
Our local Aldi has apparently placed a limit of 4 items of every product to stop these selfish bstards. Should have been done 2 weeks ago by every supermarket chain. It is just fuelling the hoarding mentality. If someone tries multiple times to buy an item and can't, when they eventually find some, they are minded to buy loads in case they struggle again next time.
agreed mate it’s disgusting what some people are doing. The asda in goli has now restricted the sales on baby milk to one tub per person
That's the problem it's a snowball effect. Like the Baby milk. If we still had one that young and I was struggling to get it I would be buying as much as I could get when I got the chance. We all think the panic buying is silly until we cant get something we want/need.
Some of the prices on Amazon are eye watering as well. My wife wanted me to order her some antibacterial handwash gel. She identified the product she wanted at £4.99 per bottle and wanted me to send for three bottles. Clicked on checkout and with delivery cost the price suddenly rocketed to £55.00! No way Jose were we paying that. Daylight robbery.
As of yesterday the outdoor shop as Wasdale head still had big roll, the real stuff with pictures of puppies. No flour though and no mince. Lots of sheep kicking around though
Nope...just been to Morrisons in Huddersfield and the latest thing is fish fingers......no lie. Shelves shorn of the processed piscine digits. Bit silly really if the Armageddon these folks are planning for comes to pass. The lecky goes off, they all thaw and how do you cook them ???
Day off walking in Wasdale and just gone to co-op in Seascale to stock up on ale. No flour or loo roll but thank heaven shelves still full of alcohol. Imagine? Things could be a whole lot worse.
Waterloo is my weekly shop. Can't see much being available later this week. Went to Sainsburys at Shorehead last night and it had an empty aisle where bread usually is, got the last small milk which left only big milks left unless you wanted vegan variety. Got the last two pack of apple crumbles. Managed to get a chocolate eclair only because the lass on the counter knew how predictable I am so saved one so it wouldn't be sold. Not so many yoghurts left and even bottled water was running low. The only well stocked shelves were where the meat free food was.
