Come on detectives who do you think he's on about Premiership experience, plays for a club down south, defender and signed for another championship club in January.
So had this not been raised did they just hope fans would forget. Extremely poor. Again not a way to build trust. “The digital members zone which was described at launch, to put it quite frankly, it proved a nightmare. In hindsight, we should have had these sorts of things in place, built and ready at launch. But for a number of reasons, this never worked out. We can only apologise and we should have communicated this at the time. But other concerns regards the upgrades, these have been going ahead every week, with members receiving an upgrade for matches, where they’ve been moved into hospitality and what have you. Again, we apologise if this hasn’t been communicated effectively enough.
He was on my shortlist from here....... https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/footba...ransfer-ins-and-outs-january-2020_384398.html Defender loans from southern based premiership teams to one of our relegation rivals came up as...... https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/people/cameron-carter-vickers/ https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/people/leon-balogun/ Glad we said **** it. Never heard of either and whoever it was wanted half a million pounds, no chance.
Massively conflicted by this. I'm angry about the number of mistakes , misjudgements and omissions this management group have made. On the other hand I'm relieved that he at least acknowledges their failings, albeit I don't think based on this write up, that he's contrite enough. I don't like his summary of their performance to date and would've had greater respect if he'd admitted that in truth it's more negative than positive. The biggest issue for me is the damage to the relationship with the fan base and that alone means it's a 'D' at best. Still, overall it's probably marginally better than I thought it might be. But as others have said elsewhere, words are cheap. Spectamur agendo. Lots of action is urgently required.
No way Luton have offered a £500k staying up bonus. Sure it’ll be the Wigan signing mentioned by the other poster.
We can't compete. We can't compete. Don't you get it, we can't compete. It's impossible, we can't compete. Are you an idiot? We can't compete. It's too much, you numpty, we can't do this. Stop asking for it you plank, we can't do this. There's something wrong with you if you want us to be competitive. You want this club to fold! You're anti-Barnsley if you want us to do well. You're stupid and you're against this club if you want us to compete. And you're a cn*t. Look at that b*tsard, he wants Barnsley to do well. Burn the witch. Sacrilegious mother fckuer. Don't believe the hype.
Proper party line responses, nothing of any optimism at all there for me sorry. This lot oversaw our last relegation for nearly six months and knew exactly what is required in the championship so have no excuse for what they’ve done this time, none whatsoever. All they’ve accomplished is the attempted construction of a cheap player profit factory, not a successful football team or club which should be their primary goal. If they cannot take the club forward successfully then they should seek out better suitors who can. If they are as successful in business as they like to tell everyone that shouldn’t be too difficult I wouldn’t imagine. Put it this way, on the evidence so far, they are taking our club backwards on the footballing front which is what it’s all about isn’t it at the end of the day?
My question yesterday night was " how long does the phrase long term " refer to, in the sentence they claimed they were here for. I wanted them to commit to a period of time, so we could gauge their progress and get some statements from them. In the financial world (which i believe they are familiar with) states 3 to 5 years as medium term and long term anything longer. I understand these meetings are diffecult to get all the questions across and i do believe he answered them as honestly as possible.
Balogun is still a weird one as has virtually nothing to suggest he is worth that sort of money(8 games in 18 months for Brighton).
I wish he'd stop using the line about incoming transfer fees coming in installments as some sort of excuse. Unless we're shooting ourselves in the foot commercially (which I can't rule out, to be fair) then the same thing applies to the outgoing fees too.
Jesus Christ. A full evening where nothing is actually answered and no mistakes are acknowledged. Utterly pathetic. He's too open? To ******* open? He's so closed I bet he only sh1ts twice a year.
Call me what you want for saying this, but I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt for now. It all seems positive to me and I'm choosing to take him at his word. FOR NOW. For now. One more chance, Dane. I will give him next season to prove the words that he's saying here are true. I think he's very naive when it comes to being a CEO, but I'm going to trust that he's learning and he will improve. From what I've heard elsewhere, he's very well respected in the footballing world and people within the game feel like we've got a great asset with him.
