Going forward we created nothing, we had no shots on target all game the football was a hard watch. Preston at home was also a bad one and birmingham at home under struber and preston away under stendel. But that has to be up there that 2nd half was embarrassing.
It was a game we needed to win. A game we never looked like winning. It was poor, not sure if it was the wurst, but we lacked the mustard & onions on top & the bread was a bit stale.
A game we needed to win and we created no chances and never had a shot on goal. It was up there for me with the worst performances and struber had a mare.
You could have predicted the result even before kickoff. They would muscle us and bully us out of the game and then score in second half from set piece. Cardiff do it to us every time. They were a physical side under Warnock and still are under Neil Harris who did the same tactics at Millwall. Some of our players played like scared rabbits in the face of direct physical approach ie Williams, Thomas Browny (to some degree) whilst Ritzmaier was anonymous...
I agree you could tell what sort of tactics were going to be used by cardiff there team is full of big lads and watching there keeper warm up at one bit the goalkeeper coach was passing him the ball and he was practising hitting the ball long. Ritzmaier was like having ten men.
Yes, I have to say the bench offered no prospect of a change of plan today. Sometimes everything is wrong.
Carlisle at home in the league cup was about the worst I’ve ever seen a Barnsley team play given the opposition. I’ve never seen a Barnsley team give the ball away as much
