Agreed, Mads will get better but at this time he was put into a cauldron he's never experienced, also playing alongside Diaby who is also massively inexperienced.
They will get better, probably in League 1, just where Hourihane, Pinnock, Lindsay, Davies, Winnall etc made their names

Won't be there next season. Gone downhill since his personal life has been less settled. Fell on his backside like Steve Gerrard for Ba. No amount of pulling his socks up could hide his mistake.

Feel sorry for him. The media and pundits are there like vultures waiting for his mistake. They were already 2-0 up, and they made out like he'd just cost them the Champions League final.

Jamie Redknapp has stuck up for hI'm. He made some crucial clearances I the second half. He got Pep cuddles at the end too.

Thought it unfair to exclusively blame John Stones for the Villa goal. He has not
been involved in many games of late, so I was quite surprised and pleased to see his
composure on the ball in the early stages of the game.

As for the incident itself , he simply got his feet mixed up which as a retreating defender
is easy enough to do. After John slipped, there were two additional movements leading to the Villa
player heading the ball in the net and as someone has already said, there were other City defenders
in close proximity who could have and should have intervened.

Spot on, Harry (he who can do no wrong) Maguire, makes mistakes game in game out and hardly a thing is said by the media and pundits alike. What also annoys me is that anything good or just decent doesn’t even get a mentioned. He played a few long range passes out today straight to his team mate not even a mention from the commentator, and it’s not just today either. Criticise by all means, but be fair and consistent about it

Dont know what it is about Neville he was a Bobby Hassel type full back in a very good side
Its as though hes quite envious of Stonesy cos hes come from nothing to be very succesful a bit like Maguire however he doesnt give him the same stick is it cos hes got a city shirt on.

You're right of course, Neville could only dream of being as classy or comfortable on the ball as Stones. I'll say this as well, when I first saw Mads, I saw a bit of Stones in him.

Been reading a report on the game in today's paper. Regarding the incident it says " Guardiola
couldn't mask his anger at the goal, but was full of praise for John Stones at the final whistle,
because he recovered his composure and didn't put a foot wrong thereafter."

The City boss hugged Stones on the pitch at the end and was impressed with his mental fortitude.
"Always with players, we speak about how you react. It wasn't easy for him in front of 90,000 fans
and everyone watching here in England. After his slip, he never made an error and made two big
    clearances near the end.

He's a lovely person, always there for us. I know he's struggled of late because I haven't played him
much, but we need him. He was involved many times in winning most of the titles we've won and when
you win titles, it's because everyone is involved."

The article concludes." His mistake made City work harder for the trophy than they perhaps should have. But the character that Stones showed in recovering from it, suggests that, if he can cut out the occasional gaffe, he still has a future at the Etihad."

Stones slips and gets crucified and De Gea messes up and relative to Stones he gets beatified.
