If it was up to me I'd have waited the 6 months, he'd have shown his worth and desperate clubs in January would have paid desperate money. ( Or at least what we got!)
We got 3 million or was it 3.5? We could have got that in january with 6 months left and I think our goal difference would be looking alot better right now and we would have been a good few places higher. Staying in this league is apparently worth 6 million.
Which is basically what I was saying? 'The benefit to us would have been having Pinnock for an extra six months. That would have been huge'.
Yeah I was just agreeing with you really and putting some figures in, having said that hindsight is a great thing these owners probley nievely thought the new recruits could step up better than they have and our defence wouldnt have been so bad all season.
I'm definitely more of the opinion that they've massively underestimated the Championship because of how we steamrolled so many teams last season. Rather than this deliberate sabotage notion that sometimes gets mentioned. Saying that though, it was clear to almost everyone that just a couple of experienced professionals would have made a massive difference to the set of players as a whole.
Where as that trend come from? I assume you are referring to a BFC's Mr Conway when you say that. I find it so annoying, so much so that every game show contestant I see appears to do the same when asked about themselves.
It’s a technique developed to answer questions in a positive/forceful approach without alienating the listener and has crept into every day life.
Not necessarily so though is it. His new club didn't deem him ready to play for several matches so who is to say he would have been ready for us in a higher league. In fact a player in the dressing room that wanted away and was stopped doesn't generally bode well.
I think his personality was such that he'd have stayed professional. I definitely think his move to Brentford was the right move for him, he seemed so happy even on the bench but he could have brought the young uns on and then moved in January.
All speculation though. Based on our performances defensively this season, I don't think it's too out there to suggest our back four would have been a whole lot better for having Pinnock in it. I'm also not sure that Pinnock demanded to leave, in the same way that Lindsay and Moore appeared to.
He lost the plot for me mate. We battered Birmingham away early Feb. Made six changes to the team for the next game. ( Making the excuse he needed to rest players ) Absolutely Stark raving mad in my opinion.( Players not knowing who was going to be on the teamsheet from 1 game to the next. Even if they'd played blinders over a few games.) Lost total respect for him after that statement. Didn't win again for the next six games.
I asked a question a few weeks ago about this. Why are so many people suddenly starting a sentence with "So", especially when answering a question. There's loads of people on TV and radio doing it. It's doing my head in. They must have got it from somewhere.
I was meaning the points dropped in January, when we only had Ritzmaier & the Charlton, Brum & Wednesday games we were counting on getting points from. Instead we got 1 & in the case of Charlton we lost a 6 pointer, that would have had them down in the mire with us. No criticism of Sollbauer, but we knew we needed experience in November & a player should have been lined up sooner, if the board really gave a flying fig about us staying up. Ludwig has only really just come into contention too in the last two games. Our task now is way harder & we have in March 4 very difficult opponents.
