Hope our players read this. From the Fulham writer........ "How Barnsley are in the sorry position they are currently, I’ll never know. They were magnificent. Gerhard Struber may clobber himself up casually, but there was nothing informal about his side’s effort and endeavour."
" Barnsley were fully deserved of the 3 points and were, in my eyes, the best team we’ve had the misfortune of facing at home this season." I'm not sure whether that says more about Fulham than it does about Barnsley.
I hope they read it too. And if so ...... please don't think this result means 'job done'. I'll be supporting on Saturday, hoping you don't rest on your laurels. You are more than capable of repeating this result and performance ....... too many times this season you have failed to follow up. Lesson learned, let's smash this now!!
Sam Smith was there to watch his team. The best reply is the tweet asking him if he now indentifies as a 3-0 defeat.
I don't think they have rested on their laurel's. The games against Luton, Charlton (twice), Huddersfield (twice), Reading, Stoke City, Derby (away) and Birmingham at home were massively over hyped and billed as "6 pointers" and "must win" and "should win". That only puts pressure on the team to perform. Just take every game as it comes.
Think the replies to Chien Lee were mild by comparison to some of those but there were some funny ones as above.
It will but last week was a free hit - we were all but down and no one expected anything from the game and it was away Saturday we are at home against a side we can beat - not won in their last 6 and have given ourselves a slim chance of escape Much more pressure on this game. More significantly Boro wont allow us to play like Fulham did it will be a packed defence and try and hit us on the break - or record against poor sides is much worse than against decent ones
From FR above - and this is how I also see it on Saturday. "More significantly Boro wont allow us to play like Fulham did; it will be a packed defence and try and hit us on the break."
We were holding our own in the reverse fixture until we conceded then we lost our shape and were lucky not be thrashed when our defence was picked apart. Maybe a touch more patience is needed if we go behind and perhaps just try and stay in the game.
