Great idea but it might be worthwhile giving the local grassroots teams a playable pitch to play on first! There's some local teams only played a handful of games this season due to poor/dangerous/waterlogged pitches.
Don’t hold your breath for the FA to contribute anything significant. They only care about the Premier league. Local Council’s are hard- pressed to provide care in the Community let alone Leisure facilities (as crucial as they are)
It’s a good initiative and I’m not knocking it. As someone who has been involved with local litter picks it’s annoying, frustrating and almost heartbreaking. To see the same areas that have been recently cleared littered with dog crap, takeaway remains and packaging amongst other stuff. I really could strangle the dog owners who either, never pick up or don’t if they think no ones watching. I put my bin out and regularly find a pile of crap straight outside the gate.
Absolutely not holding my breath. I've been involved in grassroots football for over 10 years and the pitch situation has got worse year on year. This year it came to a head with my club being priced out of our own village and having to move 3 miles down the road. Three miles doesn't sound a lot but when you've got to transport up to 16 kids because their parents don't drive can be a nightmare!
That’s crap. These are the stories that want ramming back down the throats of the FA when they are giving it the big I am
Its its not only litter dog **** is an anoyance having to walk the pitch before you play to pick up any that dog owners have left
