What's happened? We have fallen apart... I know we lost at Bristol but the performance was at least decent and on another day we would have got at least a point. The players look tired and uninterested to me which at this stage of the season is a real worry. Is the new manager over working the players and burning them out? Whatever is happening we need to address it or we will be down by easter.
Not sure about the over working because our deficiencies all over the pitch leads me to question just what we work on during training.
I only mentioned over training as I was speaking to a bloke at last home game who said they had been training double sessions? We look a yard off the pace and we arent getting to our passes or winning second balls. That could be down to desire, Quality or lack of fitness I dont know but the performances in December to now couldn't be much different at a time when our confidence should be growing as our results were but we have gone backwards quickly.
We need to change shape when needed. The formation was all wrong, but we stuck doggedly to it, like a religious fundamentalist clings to their holy book of choice. I like Struber, but there needs to be plan B, if teams are cancelling us out, as Pompey did. On our day, if we'd played well we would have overpowered them. As it was, everyone other than Oduor & the subs had a total stinker. Cauley scored a wonder goal, but for the most his lay off play was as bad as everyone else. Doom & gloom, no, but we need to be ready for Charlton & Wednesday, as two defeats there & the season will be virtually over. after Stoke's 2-0 win today over Swansea.
Believe it or not , it may come as a big surprise so I’d sit down if i were you . We work on set pieces including corners and throw ins , I know !! I couldn’t believe it either but they do .
That's 2 games in a row where the whole team have lost the ability to pass. We've brought a specific number of players from a level in a specific country that bears no relevance to us, unless your philosophy is that football is "universal" and that you can pluck a decent player from anywhere in the world, and he'll perform equally as well in his new country, his new continent etc. It looks worse with these new players in. They've only just kicked off - I know. But with a newly bust open spreadsheet, we ought to think about players beyond who's good at a certain level in Austria.
When you say we work on throw ins, you mean Cauley works on them right? As he’s the only player we have that seems to move for them and want the ball. Also, 2 foul throws from Jordan Williams today was it? 1 is bad enough ffs.
The team has been performing worse in January than it did in December. Whilst Ritzmaier has not been particularly poor, he has displaced mowatt from his best position. Mowatt has played in all other points of the diamond, but it has effected the entire balance of the team.
Or win our next two games and full time at Wednesday the ground is in full voice chanting we are staying up
I seriously hope we do. We have to improve dramatically, as today we we utter dogsh1te all over the pitch.
