When stadium announcer stopped the intro music whilst fans in full swing to announce a car parking infringement . WTF
I know the onfield matters are the most important consideration but things like that do make you think. The catering in the Ponty tonight was awful. Rarely do I buy stuff but I've never seen so little to buy. Most drinks fridges were three quarters empty and the only pop I could buy was a week from sell by date and flat. Hardly any hot food, three bags of crisps, beer pumps seemingly not working, I did wonder why no one was queuing. Fair play to the friendly staff who did their best but it had the feel of a tin pot situation. Not sure how much the club get involved in catering admittedly. Anyway like I said, not a major concern by any means, but noticeably poorer than usual.
Unfortunately often it’s the small things that tell you a lot about the bigger issues and that does not sound good.
You're right Marlon. It is the details that matter. The owners seem to have given up any pretence of their "improving the matchday experience" baloney. Even if they sub-contract the catering, they must surely get a say in how well or otherwise it is run (or should do). Catering shambles goes with idiotic announcer, lack of press engagement (especially when it's all over the papers like a p(ssing puppy that we've a player who may be banned). I think the whole place is at risk of developing an air of .....(searching for a word here) apathy/delapidation/ lassitude/torpor
I am starting to wonder that myself. I think they were deluded in two key respects: 1. How successful the "plan" could be 2. The amount of money required to be successful or even just competitive in this league. I think unless something earth shattering happens in the next ten days we may be forgiven for thinking they have got cold feet
Something was amiss last night.... hardly anybody queuing for half time drinkies BUT couldn't find any sugar or those wooden stirring sticks. And that was after letting in 3 goals !! Not a good matchday experience.
I wish the stadium announcer had instructed the rest of us to return to our vehicles during the intro music. It might have saved two hours of our lives we'll never get back.
The trouble with that is if you were in the Main Car Park you'd have had to wait until an hour after the game to be released.
