Yep. Mads not complaining at all. just holding his back and shouting at the linesman that he has cramp.
Whatever people think.it was cowardly at the least. What if one of our lads had done it? I would have been embarrassed.
What do you think his intention was if it wasn't malicious? I mean it's not like it was an accident so why exactly did he intend to stand on somebody's back?
He was complaining to the ref afterwards, and I’m not convinced he wasn’t hurt. But that’s besides the point. That’s a clear red card by the laws of the game. 3 match ban if they’re applied correctly.
It was a snide, cowardly piece of shithousery where it could have prompted mads to rightfully knock all the pricks teeth out resulting in a whopping ban.
Remember Marley Watkins' red card against forest for a light tap? Did we appeal because it wasn't malicious or because he didn't hurt anyone?
Like when Conor stood on the Peterborough guy's foot ... maybe you were embarrassed (I was) but I don't remember any criticism of him. All I was trying to say was that like most people on here thought CM's sending off was wrong (inc.me) , so would a red card for this be wrong also. Just looking for a bit of consistency, what's good for the goose etc. etc. 2 wrongs don't make a right ... can't be doing with the 'chip on the shoulder' we see on here from time to time. I think it makes us look a bit petty.
There's a key difference. A lot of people thought that mcgeehan's was genuinely accidental. Can you honestly say you believe this was an accident?
Not an accident but not malicious. Looks to me to not put his full weight on it (same as CM). Let me put it back to you, what do you think his intention was, injure him hurt him wind him up a bit I think I'm less bothered about it because it wasn't sly. He didn't go out of his way to land on his back, just didn't go out of his way to miss him. Its not like he stuck his leg out at 45 degrees to stand on some's toes
We’re absolutely after consistency here. If the McGeehan foul was a 3 game ban then so should this. What’s wrong with asking for that sort of consistency? At the time we may have disagreed that McGeehan warranted a 3 game ban, but if the powers that be deem that it was, then those same powers should apply their judgement consistently. How is that petty?
Because it had no affect on the game, let it lie. To go back to the CH incident (which was plain to see was intentional). What would you have thought about the Posh fans had they kicked up a fuss and tried to retroactively got him banned. I'd be surprised if many on here would have said 'yep totally agree'. As I've said, I think it was a terrible decision to ban CM, but that doesn't now mean I want them to follow that up and make more bad decisions, even for another team. CM shouldn't have been banned, neither should this guy. I think its petty because its exactly the kind of thing I hear from my kids when they've done something wrong and been caught. First thing out of their mouth will be 'but he (brother) did it last week & he still got to play xbox'. I'm hoping they grow out of that when they become adults.
A grown adult in football boots standing on another grown.adults back cannot be a nice experience unless that kind of thing floats your boat. Each to their own I suppose.
Again, just looking for consistency - A grown adult in football boots standing on another grown.adults toes cannot be a nice experience unless that kind of thing floats your boat. Obviously I'm in a minority on this one, but personally I think it makes us look like we have a chip on our shoulder. Reminds me of the time we lost to Liverpool and a large section of our fan base were convinced it was all part of some big conspiracy to get us out of the premier league. I think even Trump would have been embarrassed at that one. Just think we are better than that ... or should aspire to be.
sorry, my mistake, I wasn't talking about consistency in the rules & how they are applied, I was referring to consistency of people's attitudes regardless of the team that a player belongs to. I agree that there should be consistency of the rules, but only when they are applied correctly. I don't think they should keep applying the law incorrectly, just because they got it wrong once. For example I don't think we should get a penalty every time one of our players is fouled outside the box just because Leeds got one from us.
