Outstanding performance yesterday and my MOM - thought he scared them shitless. Deserves his song singing more often and louder.
To think how far the lad has come from last season. His work rate could never be questioned but he is now starting to add quality to his game. Hopefully he will stay with us a while longer and continue to develop.
Jacob Brown was man of the match by a good distance for me yesterday. I would like a pint of whatever the match sponsors were drinking when they watched the game and awarded it to Jordan Williams, who made a very good saving tackle but otherwise looked a little nervy and lacking in composure and ability for the rest of the game. Didn’t cover himself in glory for the goal, though I’d apportion more blame there to Bambo, barely played one pass forwards, and, admittedly against a big physical side, looked to be overpowered. Jacob created both goals, challenges for and wins headers in the outside right channel and frightens defenders to death with his pace and quality. He’s been a big part of our overturn in form. When he scores a league goal it might start a run of a fair few too.
I personally hope we manage to keep him for this and next season as a minimum. Hopefully he sees the benefit in that long term. Rather than a quick buck and rotting in another teams reserves. Develop further and go somewhere higher as an established player rather than a prospect.
Nothing but praise for him yesterday. The way he came out that first half hour yesterday was incredible. He looked fitter & sharper than anyone on the pitch. Interestingly I think both him & Jordan Williams are from Huddersfield & both were excellent. I bet we had more Huddersfield lads in our side than they did
He's brilliant. Can play in about 5 different positions. Quick. Good in the air. Final ball improving. Finishing improving. Gives everything. I love him.
That's how I saw the game. Jordan Williams shouldn't have been even in the short list for the MOTM. I actually thought his Meltham friends and family might have sponsored it. Brown was the clear MOTM no question about that. Some of the balls to him that he somehow managed to keep in play was brilliant. Especially the first half corner he got us when it looked like he was running down the east stand side after a lost cause.
