Me too. Eric Brookes was one of the earliest players I can remember from the mid sixties, along with Roy Ironside, Big Winnie, Barry Swallow, Bob Earnshaw, John Bettany, George Kerr, Johnny Evans, Jimmy Sheaville and Eddy O'Hara. When 'ar wor nowt but a slip of a lad.
Still don't know what's right, end of the season, or as and when. With as and when you run the risk of missing someone and causing offence or having a minutes silence every week the club has so many connections. But end of the season can also cause offence if you don't respect someone fundamental to the club at the time. And that's the thing, who is fundamental and who isn't and who decides. Difficult decision for the club. I'll pay my respects today of course. I never saw Eric play. Chris I followed his whole career. His death l find very upsetting. Wish strength to the families of both.
