Post match interview does not reflect he is any way disheartened, other than by us making silly defensive errors. I think he has 28 in 56 games. Not a bad return at all! Good to see Chaplin weighing in.
Article on Cauley in this weeks Chronicle re- " I see myself at Barnsley" says top scorer Woodrow. "All I can see for myself at the moment is being in a Barnsley shirt" is top scorer Woodrows message in lieu of the January transfer window. He goes on to say he's very happy at Oakwell and wants to stay to help the team get out of the situation it finds itself in. Sincerely hope, that along with Alex Mowatt, he's allowed to do just that.
Players wanting to stay and fight is a good indication the battle can be won. All guess work but there might be some decent additions if Mowatt and Woodrow want to stay. They dont come across as types who like pissing in wind.
If a suitable offer comes in it will be accepted. Can't imagine him turning down a move to a bigger club on more money. He would be foolish to do so.
I think all the conjecture regarding Woodrow leaving may well have been triggered by his agent. There is a tea room/lounge at the north end of the west stand where the 'B' celebrities, agents and hanger's on go at half time. A couple of weeks ago Woodrow's agent allegedly announced that he would not be a Barnsley player in January. It would not be the first time a player's agent has pulled a stunt like this.
Cauley is dismissing any interest in an article in the YP. Be interesting to see what happens. Probably his agent is trying to get the Board to improve his contract by saying he's not going to be at Oakwell beyond January.? Wouldnt surprise me. Sadly, absolutely no loyalty in football these days. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/spo...-cauley-woodrow-dismisses-interest-1-10165546
Think the owners have been fairly clear on this really. We intend to make money through player trading. So if a offer comes in I very much expect for it to be accepted. If he goes the fans will be angry. Then time will pass and we will keep playing. Probably some spin about how well Chaplin is playing ect. He may not go in Jan, ultimately I think it will come down to who wants him and what they offer us and the player. But if a club wants him badly enough he will go. That's not just us, that's football.
