Saw the game on red button so not the same as being there. Thought there were times in the first half when we had some lovely moves and man for man we clearly dominated play. Second half not so good and allowed them to press us. 19+ shots and the only goal was from a freakish error from their defence. Promising, but still the wrong side of good enough.
Players not good enough we’re Diaby who is not a footballer and Dougall who was fairly anonymous, unless he was giving the ball away. The strike pair didn’t really function as a strike force, but tried hard. Brown was brilliant until he had to cross and then it all fell apart.
I was imagining a box like they show on match of the day that is at the far side of the penalty area from where the ball is and it was completely empty. Nobody attacked the far post. No width in the final third, probably because a diamond has to be diamond shaped and the midfielder hangs back in it.
There is hope, they were no better than us and for large portions of the game a lot worse. We are a million miles away from a clean sheet with that defence. I’d like a more potent strike force, but wouldn’t every team in the league?
We need a more effective performance at the back of the diamond and a better player than Diaby at the back. Priorities for January.

I think a lot of our problems are mental, we get to about 70 minutes and they don’t seem to be going forward the same. You can fair feel the fans sitting here getting nervous and thinking reight how are we going to chuck it away this time?
Same last night after the equaliser we started to look threatening again

I had to leave early last night so missed the action after the 85th minute but after their equaliser I could feel the nerves around the ground and most importantly on the pitch. We've got to get past this but after winning two games since August its understandable why there are mentality issues in the team.

It’s weird watching us and knowing we’re going to concede even though we’re not under any real pressure.

Even thought I know it’s inevitable, I still think along the lines of‘we’re playing well, today could be the day we don’t concede’, but its always there, waiting to happen.

All down to game management. Got ourselves one nil up then it’s time for experienced lads to instruct to hold and slow it down, we were like headless chickens after we scored. I’m a firm believer THE PLAN can work but you’ve got to have experience in there to make it work.
