    To celebrate his win. What an absolute kick in the balls for Labour backers who are hurting like **** today.

    Sadly I can't make it. I'm having to sit in my rented flat as the fire alarm system in my tower block which has been faulty for 18 months is finally repaired by the maintenance company (sound familiar?)

    But please feel free to go down there on my behalf and give South Yorkshire's Mayor a good talking to about drinking to the fact that we've got 5 years on right wing, Tory rule.

    What you want him to do? tell em all to fek off home ?

    You should see the email invitation though. You'd have thought it was a Labour landslide by the tone of it.

    All about him and his selection. Barely a mention of the bigger picture and the feeling of despair at how things have gone.

    Are there now enough Tory MP's to press Johnson for a One Yorkshire devolution deal? If this happens he'll go for the mayoral post.

    Labour council and labour MPs have taken their members and their areas for granted for too long. They can't even see the rocket they've just had worked up their backside sidewards

    I used to work in the Town Hall. The mayor making dinner was a ludicrous expense... 9 course meal, yes 9 with expensive things on the menu. A large number of chefs brought in, free champagne then free bar, more waiting on staff than you’d see at any restaurant, etc. Invited were a hundred or so guests from the local dignitaries and labour councillors. All on a £100 per head meal with free drinks. The use of the town hall for them to vomit the copious amounts of champagne and sherry into, and a free bar that was so rushed it got pushed over in the melee. When I personally was asked if by one attendee if he could take a couple of bottles of brandy “for later” and I refused, he became abusive telling me he’d have my job and I didn’t know who he was... I did. And it was embarrassing.

    What? I fail to see why I should be questioned on that??

    But yes, they need access to every flat to change each individual smoke alarm inside the flats.

    Course it would... which shows just how hypocritical they all are!! Are you saying it’s ok then? I don’t get why you need to point that out at all?!? I really don’t understand how you can say that it’s ok cos a Tory council would do the same?
