Scored twice 8 times this season and won once. Sooner we can get shut of every defender on our books the better.
We've had the performances all season. At some point though we have to manage the game and it's not happening.
One thing for sure is that we have proved we are good enough to hold onto our bottom of the table position. Shame and difficult to take a last min winner when we have played well. But not well enough and we simply cant get away from teams and do enough to close games out. Score 5 we let in 6. Defence cant defend. We aren't good enough and its sad and heartbreaking.
How many times have we said that this season. When does it go from being unlucky to something else...
We concede almost every attack , our forwards have to score at least three times for any hope of at least a point . I think we’ll get the players in in january but with what we’ve got we’ll be too late . Not one defender thought to cover back post with four blue shirts waiting , that’s criminal imo it should be a defenders instinct .
I just hope we can get the players. It worries me that there will be a lot of competition for any decent defenders who can come in match ready at Championship level
No, were playing well, its not like it's a Preston/Luton performance every week. We'll soon start putting points on the board.
We aren't THAT far adrift points wise. But there's just no hope. It really doesn't feel like we'll ever turn it around and go on the run we need. That match today is the kind where you need know-how, guile and leadership to either sneak a win or get a point over the line. None of that in the squad and we lost. Stick Stephen Foster, Bobby Hassell and Darren Sheridan in that team and we'd probably stay up.
What makes it even sadder (and i and im sure many others are fed up of saying it) is that a little experience to close games out might just have been the difference between the one goal defeats and the one goal wins. I would normally be gutted right now but i think im used to it now.
To be honest, which match day ready championship players are going to be willing to come to a side marooned at the bottom of the table and looking a sure fire bet for relegation? Even if the board are willing to go looking for them, which is a big IF, it's not like going to the supermarket and buying potatoes. Its notoriously difficult to buy quality in January. Clubs don't want to let them go and players don't want to come.
