A genuine question on ‘where and whys’ when voting

Next week I’m 90% going to vote and this run up is the most out of any other general elections I’ve been able to vote in as caught my attention...........

So to seasoned voters do you vote for who you think will benefit you directly most or someone who will benefit the masses???

This isn’t designed to trip anyone up just a genuine question how others gather there thoughts in the lead up to a election.

I vote for the party I believe will benefit the majority

 

Tbh who will benefit me directly is also the party that will benefit the poorer sections in society and hopefully my children in years to come by addressing things like housing, education, NHS. Do I think this party will do everything its promised, no I don't but imo something is better than nothing.

 

My vote goes to the party who will benefit my children and my grand children's future.
So looking around there is only one which fits the bill.
The tory party is full of evil selfish ********. Labour is totally inept and lie dems are back stabbing and devious.
I'll keep to myself who I will vote for but IMHO an independent Scotland will be a better prospect for my grandchildren to live in.

 

I vote for the party who align as closely as possibly to my own values and principles.

If you aren’t sure there are a couple of manifesto check websites which will guide you. These are especially useful if you have little or no idea of manifesto contents already, there can be a little unconscious bias if you do.

 

I've voted for practically every party through my life based on the leader ( are they strong leaders) the parties manifesto and recent history, I also base it on how I am financially able to support my family judged on which party is in at the time, I have never made a decision simply because " ive always voted for that party " I'm not saying that's wrong whatsoever, I voted for Labour in 97 based on I thought Blair would/ was a good leader, looking back i dropped a testicle. For me security and not taxing the people on the coal face to death is a big thing

Good for you mate. I wish England had a viable alternative that aligned with the SNP. I'd move to Scotland if I wasn't so settled in the city I'm in. God bless the Scots, you tell it like it is

I was also one who voted for Labour in that election. Never again.
Labour have never recovered.

Both the main parties have migrated to their extremes, yet it somehow seems to be a two-horse race. The centrists are going to be massively under-represented in the next parliament.

 

Which is wrong because I believe that the majority of people are really centrists. Sad that there isn’t a viable party for the majority.

 

I vote for the party that looks after the majority.
All these taxes labour are imposing don’t make anyone poor .
They are trying to tax the richest who’s wealth since austerity has almost doubled .
The richest are clinging on to their assets and it’s not circling round , the people who suffered the most aren’t able to spend in our shops, bars etc which in turn makes the whole community poorer, buisness people to warehouse workers are poorer because of the asset stashing .

 

I believe that the minor parties will have a huge say in this election. If lab and con are closely matched and in need of propping up it could all come down to SNP and Libdem backing who. But both will come with conditions. SNP to prop up labour will insist on another inde ref. Will Corbyn accept this? I'm not sure so risking a tory win.
Libdems will want another brexit election to remain but I feel Swinson will back down when given another sniff of power. So again a tory win.

 

I think a Labour Govt. would eventually allow you a vote on Independence Ian, but not straight away. I think they believe that given time they could persuade enough to decide that perhaps. a UK without a Tory-led Govt isn’t such a bad place. Moreover, if and it’s a big if, they could present to the British Public an EU referendum which has either a (proper) deal Brexit or Remain outcome and Remain won, they stand a good chance of a vote against Scottish Independence. Sadly, I feel the Nation has been conned, and that the biggest and nastiest buffoon will be unleashed upon us.
