Tokenism. The issue is a serious one but why Football has to put it's oar in is beyond me. If the FA were actually serous about the subject they would be lobbying the powers that be to take the matter seriously and put some proper resources into diagnosis and care. No chance. Too dangerous that. Might upset someone's politics. Next week we'll have a minutes delay to consider football's role in resolving the Israeli Palestinian conflict. No - i haven't had a good day.
Imagine you go to game to get your problems out of your head for a couple of hours, then we have a minute delay and they say think about your problems,oh cheers that’s good of you, can’t enjoy game now, good sentiment wrong time and place
Great idea. I'd be happy with us kicking off only a minute late every home game instead of our usual 3-4 minutes like it was again at the weekend. Then the second half most times kick off nearer ten past four than five past.
I’ve convinced myself that games in Scotland kick off earlier that English games sure of it the scores always come in earlier either that or they don’t play injury time there
I've always thought that they only get 10 minutes at half time. To save on floodlight expense (or perhaps floodlight purchase).
With how current record of 3pm kick off times we’d even be late for the minute delay. It’s a running joke around where I sit at oakwell that we’re always the last game to kick off. 2:58 the players came out the tunnel on Saturday. Serious not though we do need to do more as a society to get folk opening up about their mental health.
I’m sometimes wonder if our late kick offs is why ‘we only get **** refs’. I’ve seen some quite irate refs on the tunnel cams with how slowly our players come out of the changing room. It’s not a clever idea to piss them off before a ball is kicked.
As someone who has suffered with mental health issues all my life I find this patronising and offensive and I'll be making damn sure I'm not there for this crap. When you go to a football game, whether you suffer mental health problems or not, I hope you have a good time. I hope you're with mates or family and have a great day and it helps relieve the stress of a hard working week, or a crappy week because you haven't got a job, or because the kids are in trouble, or your mam's ill or you're depressed. It's not the time to think about mental health problems, it's the time to try to forget them, to find something to take your mind off them. I hope you're considerate to any with problems at any time, but at the match we're just trying to feel normal, to laugh and celebrate with folk close to us, to be reight, we don't need a minute, like everyone else we need a laugh, a pint, a hug, a chance.
We kick off at the same time as all other clubs. You're right KO is sometimes a few minutes after 3pm but end of the day its 45/45.
Often wondered the same. It's always us who's late too and the refs often look really annoyed. Not sure if it's some kind of mind games but it doesn't work
Yeah the only thing I would like us to do is rememberance in November like it used to be. Now these days we have some sort of token campaign just about every month. People go to the games to forget their week and try and enjoy a few hours, not to have the latest fad pushed at us.
