On facebook. I called someone a stupid tory c u next tuesday. All above board, in context And they call left wingers snowflakes.
So you get banned from another social media forum for vile abuse and the first thing you do is come on here to brag about it?
So you go on social media , call somebody one of the most still generally unaccepted swear words in today's society and you think they are snowflakes for banning you!?
I understand the frustration but why the vile abuse? What purpose does this serve?: none whatsoever. I am seeing this a lot from labour supporters and it is not the words or behaviour i would expect from people who supposedly hold socialist principles. I'll give you an example. I know an ex-miner, a striker and someone who would ordinarily have voted labour. He is a good man, he is not a bigot nor a racist: the complete opposite. He is a brexiteer however and puts forward a reasoned rationale as to why this is. His 'lefty' mate responds with abuse calling him a tory #### and much more. Many people will view this on-line 'debate'. Many could be undecided as to where their vote will go. What they will see is a labour supporter being vile and abusive: this will scare people and add to any propagated notion that Corbyn is 'dangerous'. I see this time and again. Without doubt the socialist must by definition hold the moral high-ground so why play into the Tory's hands? Nothing will be gained from this.
Just read that one of my friends reported someone for saying Hitlwr was right. Funnily enough that didnt merit a ban!
It’s not just labour supporters. in fact the opposite is nearer the truth; with right wing supporters already being responsible for the murder of 1 MP and a further one jailed for threatening the same. whilst I agree we ought to be able to debate without the insults, I can see how frustration takes hold occasionally.
I think you're right about the extreme far right wing, yet wasn't the murderer of Jo Cox suggested to be mentally ill? But I concur, there are some deeply worrying signs from that extreme right and the deeper very disturbing normalisation of hate and toxicity. On the flipside to the left, I can vouch that there is a concerted campaign of hate from the left, against Tories, against LibDems, I've ever seen it against Greens, that don't share the same puritanical view of what the powerbrokers now want the labour party to be. I'm becoming more and more of the view that the Labour party and the Conservative party are opposing sides of the same coin and the only way we ever move forward and have any chance of tolerance and unity as a nation, is by these two parties falling from grace and favour. I can't see how it would ever happen given the current electoral system and how it favours the main two parties. Indeed, should the tories win a majority (and some of the initial models are suggesting around 350-360 seats), the system will only get worse as they intentionally tilt the deck through boundary change.
The right are more dangerous and much more willing to physically react. I am however seeing more vitriol in debate being spouted by the left, quite often against some who are not remotely of a right-wing persuasion but have a difference of opinion. Sad indictment and most definitely a reflection of the modern age: counter-productive and damaging.
