    It looks like our owners attempts to buy Partick Thistle are going to fail due to the dual ownership issue. They still seem determined to add to their portfolio, having also made enquiries in other countries i.e Switzerland. I reckon their objective is to buy and sell clubs like they do players.

    Reads to me as a “we’ll use the press to put pressure on SFA” to me.

    Ambitious businessman and current Barnsley co-chairman Paul Conway has hit out at the SFA after his attempts to buy Partick Thistle.

    Conway is involved with an international consortium which owns a large portion of Barnsley FC and recently sold French club Nice.


    Speaking about his Thistle hurdles, Conway says the SFA haven’t been helpful.

    He told the Scottish Daily Mail (page 88, 06/11/19): “The SFA asked us to send a presentation asking what we were doing with Partick Thistle and said they would come back with a structure that would work for everybody. We did that and then we were asked to write a letter with details of our group and our plans.

    “We sent a four-page letter and got no response. Then the club hired a lawyer to try to advance our discussions and we were asked to fill out more forms. What we have basically been met with is a non-answer from the SFA. We came into this very friendly.

    The reality is we’ve been at this for four months and we have nothing. ‘It’s kind of a joke because what we are saying is that we are willing to work with the authorities in Scotland to find a structure that can work. But we got nothing back.”

    Tykes owner Conway has seemingly big plans for Thistle if he does manage to get his takeover done and dusted.

    Alongside billionaire Chien Lee, the prospective Jags buyer wants to gain a 55% stake in the Firhill club so that he can focus his efforts on turning them into Scotland’s third force


    Thistle were Premiership stalwarts for a few seasons but have now found themselves back in the second tier. They are bottom of the league after just two wins in 12.

    Regardless of that, Conway still seems like he has plans to bankroll the Jags. But it’s all dependent on the SFA whether that happens if his quotes are anything to go by.

    That’s probably why we haven’t heard owt, up in Glasgow scoffing haggis, tatties and neeps laikin golf round loch lomand pretending to be exceptionally wealthy investors

    if his four page letter contained his plans are as detailed as his managerial sacking statements I’m not surprised it went straight in the bin

    4 pages....? 4 pitiful pages? To outline their intentions, their plans and intent.

    No wonder the SFA binned off these chancers. They'd probably forgotten to remove references to Nice and translate it from French when they first used it.

    4 pages, good grief. That just shows the complete lack of detail and transparency they have.

    Maybe in Scotland they have done more research than the the English FA and didn't like what they see.

    Well to be fair they have tried and failed at numerous clubs, in all honesty that should’ve really sounded alarm bells. But I decided to give them the benefit of doubt.

    Now there’s only one way to solve this duel ownerships situation. Sell our club then they’re eligible to buy whoever they want!! We can dream eyyy.

    I thought that Patrick thistle themselves sacked this off?
    Or maybe they sent that 4 page document to the their supporters club via fax...just like when we tried to sign lindsey!!..
