Wonder what the club did with the german flag that used to get waved in the front of the ponty before games funnily enough it wasnt there before Swansea game.
It's been transferred to Liverpool, undisclosed fee but we had to throw in the flagpole, although we do retain an interest with a future sell-on percentage.
Absolute disgrace that this man is not the head coach at Barnsley under a long term contract and given a blueprint to shape the club for the next 4-5 years
It was draped over the open top bus on parade day and nobody has seen it since. I only know this as someone joked months ago about how all the flags were lost that day.
Brilliant to see. Will be always remembered by us all. I saw this earlier on his Facebook page. What a tremendous guy. Hope there is a great job out there for him, I wish he was still with us. The only other manager's sacking I had a problem with in my 44 years watching us was Dave Bassett, which was also a mistake, but whilst I thought Bassett did a great job for us, I didn't have the same connection with him as a human being that I felt for Daniel Stendel. One season of brilliant football, but also a real passion & connection with the people of Barnsley. He was hung out to dry & the board should be truly ashamed of their callous stance. They have lost most of us, unless they can show us they are still interested, other than as a factory farm for young players.
It was him and the Neil Richardson framed print that he did from the photo of Daniel cycling to Oakwell in the sunset.
None of this seems real does it, like others have said seeing this makes the whole thing seem upsetting all over again. How did it ever come to this... the way that guy embedded himself in this town from arriving as a complete stranger was just an amazing story. The place just doesn’t feel the same without him and I say this completely irrespective of our current results and league position. I just worry about the future if that is the way decent human beings now get treated and .... yes I know there is likely to be another side to the story but it surely can’t be that bad given the fact he turned up at the Garrison for farewell drinks and is also happy to post on social media. It is all just such a shame and I know I won’t be the only one feeling this way.
Just looked back over his Facebook reliving the passion. Wish he'd been given the chance to see the season out at least .
