Anybody still believe this team is "reinvigorated"? Murray will do us damage if kept in charge much longer.
Have to be realistic, we're going down. The board have screwed us. Best transfer window in the club's history, my arse. They're taking fans for mugs, they don't give a toss
We have a group of young players 3 are too good for league one imo. The rest are league one at best but some will come good. I'm more pissed off with the owners for their naive transfer dealings, how they treat stendel and the deafening silence.
'Naive' gives them way too much credit. They knew and know we will be relegated and it is a commercial decision to give a young squad more experience than they'd have otherwise got by now to increase value and sell them after a positive season in league 1 next season.. Rinse and repeat.
Yes, absolutely. We looked like no-hopers last time and the year of poundings by better teams developed them into better players. I don't think it was un-noticed and I don't think we have bad players, just inexperienced. I've seen enough runs of play with slightly off decision making that comes with that experience to be sure of it. I also think the owners know this.
Agree. Their transfer strategy and the deals that have resulted indicate negligence. Re Stendel the common view is that he objected to the strategy once too often and was sacked as a result but I might be willing to accept that it was something else if there was some communication. The absence of it suggests there is something to hide. They are treating us fans with contempt.
Even our most optimistic fans must be getting really concerned now. With nearly a third of the season gone, it's extremely difficult to understand where our next win is going to come from.
We had a half decent squad last time we went down. Two strikers apart. We gave most teams a run for the money. We'll struggle next season barring the best transfer window ever
Time will tell but don’t forget the gulf in quality. For example wilks looked a world beater in l1 and will have another year of experience against better opposition.
Yeah I feel like they dont give a **** about the fan base, even when times on the pitch weren't good in Patrick's reign he never hid and was always open with the fans. I love going oakwell on a saturday and spending time with me young en who loves going aswell but I'm not sure I will be renewing as I'm unhappy with the owners. Not throwing toys out but will see what happens off the field between now and next season.
Some really good solid teams in L1. And the way its going you cant bet against a stoke going down as well.
There seems to have been a real increase in apathy in recent weeks, of people saying they can't be bothered to go - and that they're not missing it. Fired is the latest example today. I'm just getting more angry. I think I've tended towards being one of the 'happy clappers' in the past but the stupidly rigid application of the strategy and the disgraceful communication has tipped me over the edge. I want to believe that the owners were 'asleep at the wheel' rather than creating this by design - but either way they are culpable. There are others saying 'real fans' will just get behind the team but my view now is that we have to start to protest in some way to send a signal to the owners don't we? We surely just can't stand by and stay silent whilst their actions deepen the crisis.
