Proud of the way we played again (especially in the first half), but a tad disappointed that we couldn't hold on for a much needed win. It would've been easy for the players to sulk and throw the towel in after what has happened, but they haven't. They taken the game to two of the division's better teams, picking up a thoroughly deserved couple of draws. Hopefully, the displays we've seen against Swansea & West Brom will become the norm and we can start picking up much required victories. Very few of our fans, if any at all, expected us to be undefeated in these matches. I'm still disgusted with how the board have handled the current situation, but that doesn't stop me from backing these young lads. I believe they've given 100% and continue to do so. There was a comment from Guy Harvard on the commentry last night that the Albion game could well be Murray's last in charge, as the club would be doing interviews from today onwards. We'll see how true this is. However, there's no doubt in my mind that Adam Murray has steadied the ship and couldn't have done much more.
He's been a great stand-in by the looks of things, and I hope he remains involved whatever the ownership decides regards the head coach role.
Well said - personally I would give him a few more games and see how things progress thats if he is happy to do that - its clear the players are happy with him and there is no real rush if he is doing a decent job but if we are going to replace him he definitely should stay on at the club
Spot on Kev, I’m not sure if we’re interviewing or not but I think going on the last couple of performances Adam Murray deserves at least a few more games to make the position his own.
Totally agree with that Kev and the fight has given me hope that we now have a chance of staying up. Make no bones it’s gonna be very hard and we’ll need a bit of luck and a lot of vocal support but along with the players determination it can be done . It’s gonna take a great escape Flicker type effort but if the fights there from the players our supporters will back em 100% no danger. I can’t help thinking after last night the officials are gonna play more than a bit part in our season tbh , this conscious or subconscious attitude from them has to be brought up for them at least to asses the situation . Chaplin and Brown were scythed down unmercifully but the crime went without even a word whilst our players were booked for cynical but less harmless tackles . I think the Cavare booking was a mistake from the ref but the others were deliberate imo. I think the board are right to move for a manager in the immediate future and if it’s AM so be it but if not get someone in ASAP and back em .
Hand on heart I never expected to get anything from last nights game, so to come away with a point to the league leaders was a real bonus. Their team comprised players who have played at a higher level and have been worth millions and been capped as internationals and so our performance was even more than credible. Been looking at the points awarded in today's Mirror to each player. West Brom's aggregate total for their starting eleven was 69, whilst we totalled 80, which given we only had 31% of possession confirms that our lads played very well indeed. Cavare, Mowatt, McGeehan and Woodrow were awarded 8 marks, Collins, Andersen, Sibbick, Dougall, Brown and Chaplin got 7 and Diaby got 6. In the text of the main report it says " Bilic's table toppers were blown away by the Yorkshiremen, but it was no more than they deserved after their sloppy start." Albion were booed off at half time as they trailed for only the second time this season. Just a pity our lads were unable to maintain their lead. Here's hoping they can do just that against Huddersfield on Saturday.
just watched AMs interview. Great to hear him talking so positively about this group of players. that in itself will breed more confidence.
