he messed abut a bit and lost the ball prior to the first goal we conceded which he scored himself so he was his own undoing.
He always looks like he’s a mistake in him to me. Maybe fatigue played a part tonight as he’s been out a while
He looked knackered around the time of the own goal almost certainly down to fatigue. I thought he was a rock for the first 60 mins though. I think we need to be patient with him because he could develop into a real player.
Lost his head for ten minutes around the time of the own goal. Should have been subbed, but no one to take his place. Quality player in there, that needs experience alongside him. Where have we heard that before.
He’s never played anywhere near this level and is taking time to get used to it. See rest of squad, shame we didn’t opt to purchase at least one defender with a few seasons of championship or premiership experience
I think he'll be some player when he settles in, it's easy to forget how young he is and playing in a new country.
From the little i've seen, the players signed all have good technical ability and have very good potential. We've played well in patches in a fair few games (can't speak for the last 2) so the ability is there. It comes down to game time and experience. In 50 games (whoever is still left) will be better than they are now. The issues are what kids all go through. Inconsistency. Poor decision making. Over exuberance. Poor concentration at times. Tiring quickly from not managing their workload. The issue is and will continue to be that there aren't enough on the pitch to lead and manage through their experience. Dougall is a massive bonus to get back in the team and its no surprise people say we've been more solid with him. If the owners hadn't gone for absolutism and greed first, had just 2 more solid regular first team starters at 24-28. Its no coincidence our 3 best players are 3 of our older players.
Can’t disagree with anything there, would also add for context, it is not just age/experience of being a footballer at a certain level it is also the style we play, if people want examples of this look at Man City & Liverpool, City first year under Pep had to learn game management, Liverpool the same year before last (both the Managers said this), it’s also no coincidence Liverpool’s consistency came with the signing of Van Dyke. Maybe that’s the real issue here it’s not just experience at a level but also the style that plays a huge part.
