"I think we’re still trying to play our exciting attacking football, but since Muz has taken over he has put more structure into us,” Woodrow continued. “We’ve changed the formation slightly and it has made us harder to break down."

That’s Dougall and now Woodrow with “interesting” comments aimed towards Stendel.

Well the players were never going to publicly state that the new manager has made things worse were they
in any case its clear that there has been a change to the structure and on one game it seems to have helped. As said above a real test will be how effective it is tonight

I didn't notice much difference, personally.

Swansea: We had 40% possession, 5 shots on target and 2 corners. Derby: 50% possession, 7 shots on target and 8 corners. And Murray had a stronger squad to pick from.

Well it was a lot better than Preston believe me.

We did play a different system - that was clear from the stands - whether it really worked is as you say a bit more open to debate - we scored one goal - better than average over the last few games and conceded one also better than average but is it significant?

what about the other end did Derby have more shots than Swansea?
Also we created some great chances but then missed the target - McGeehan being particularly susceptible - you have to think another day he scores from at least one of those

For 60 minutes against Swansea we looked quite solid at the back but then either we tired or Swansea figured out how to play against us and but for some very good goalkeeping we could have shipped several goals - I think we need to see how well we cope at WBA and also more importantly at Huddersfield before we can really start to form a real view

We looked much better against Swansea than we did against Derby. There's a big difference in quality between those two sides also. Saturday's display was the closest I've seen to the opening match against Fulham.

My view is that Derby are by far a better side than Swansea. They should have beaten us a couple of weeks ago, despite the possession stats. Not everyone will agree with me.

I don't think the real test is tonight, we'd get battered if we had Lindsay, Moore and Pinnock in the line up. The real test is over the rest of the season whether he keeps the job for a few games with a more defensive formation and gets more points on the board or if a new manager comes in with the same squad and manages to keep us up.

I don't, but we'll see in May where they both end up.

The home fans are way too confident, probably with good reason.......

    https://wbaunofficial.org.uk/showthread.php?tid=7047

Lets hope we aren't shown up by them on the red button, as we have taken some drubbings there through the years.

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50050987

One of my all time favourite away trips. We sold out the whole stand, stewards let POTD sit down the side in a part home fans weren't using, Barnard scored a free kick and stewards chucked out the fans on the side. We could do with a performance like that tonight.

Our season won't be defined tonight. But as of Saturday we have nine games before christmas where wins need to come frequently. We will be playing many teams around us such as Huddersfield, Stoke, Hull and Reading and avoiding the top sides in the league. If we are in relegation at Christmas it will be a struggle to stay up.
