Don’t let this great manager slip through your fingers. And when that’s done - accept that you need advice - so appoint a director of football who is well known and respected in the English Football League. A Maurice Watkins type of fella. And when that’s done - make a statement to the supporters that the new owners have made a shaky start but plans are now in place to put things right no matter if we survive in the Championship this season or not. And when that’s done - the supporters will be right behind you. There is a longing out there to support what you are trying to achieve.
If a football club, employer or girlfriend treated me like that, they could get fcucked as far as I'm concerned. He deserves better than that.
Only way they could possibly repair damage done would be to re-instate him and give him the money and freedom to build a competitive Championship side. Alternatively, alienate your support and embrace inevitable relegation. I’m no businessman but seems pretty clear what needs to be done for the good of the fans and the club financially.
Lets say for arguments sake they did reinstate him, armed him with a shiny new 3yr contract and gave him the free transfers he asked for. What happens if we still continued to lose most weeks ?
