For all the talk of us not wanting madcap owners who put the financial security of the club at risk, well surely showing a complete lack of dignity is not far off. It means we lose the identity of our club and what the majority of fans stand for, just in a different way. Some things are bigger than how we're doing on the pitch. And those things are respect, decency and humanity. Not profit margins. Not statistical analysis. Not any of the things these owners are seemingly at the club for They act as though they know the 'history' of our club and what success means to us when they've only been in 18 months. They make crass statements about a history they have no understanding of, treating us like peasants who can be manipulated into believing their hyperbole and putting our money into the club. They then treat a man who was one of us with utter contempt, scapegoating him for their own failings when he is due to stand in court after being assaulted at work. They haven't the first clue about Barnsley and Barnsley people. We're not numbers on a spreadsheet. We're not statistics. We're humans, with loyalty, respect, decency and dignity. Oh, and we also know the first thing about how a football team should be put together. And we'll be here long after you've found some other assets to concentrate on.
