to watching the athletics on BBC2. Last night I vowed not to watch again after they ruined the coverage of the women’s pole vault by showing hardly any of it. Men’s event tonight. Looks like it’s been a fabulous competition but again the BBC has to cut away from the pole vault to watch a rerun of an earlier 200m semi final, a stupid film about that new arrogant yank sprinter cheat, a bland discussion about what it means to be the face of a sport and chat about a forthcoming race. Makes my blood boil.

There's no bugger there, bit I saw there was more camera crew and journalists than spectators, the Qataris? certainly ain't interested in athletics, will they be interested in FIFAs circus?

Are you able to watch a particular event on the red button?
Field events have always taken second fiddle to track, but I was led to believe that the red button gave you the choice to watch a particular event.
I'm no expert as I don't watch TV of any sort anymore. I haven't had a TV for over three years. But, as an avid fan of athletics since the Moscow Olympics, remembering some simply amazing races, I find it difficult to hear the BBC are giving poor coverage when for all my life they were the only option and provided some of the greatest highs of my life.

Edwards triple jump 1995 World Championships Gothernberg. Was at Scaborough on holiday 10 years old. Next day on sands kids were marking out sand pits and run ups trying to reinact it.
