That we’re currently talking to 2 players about extending their contracts. I can only think of Thiam and Cavare who are out of contract at the end of this season. Everyone else has at least a year after that. Stendel not signed up, but talks ongoing. I reckon he’s waiting to see if we can stay up. Probably will re-sign if we do. Might be poached if we go down. Don’t blame him whilst his stock is high.
I'm hoping Mowatt too. My favourite player. He's a local lad and might not have any aspirations of the Premier League. Could see him being here for a few years if he wanted to be.
He extended until 2020 with an option in the clubs favour so in essence a two year deal. Here until 2021.
He's also saying in today's Chronicle, that signings will be made in January to to give us a better chance of staying in the Championship.
Oddly enough if we keep losing I see a very high chance of Daniel signing an extension. It's probably made potential suitors stop and consider, however unfair on him that may be. From his own career perspective better to have gone in the summer. I'm very glad he's still here.
That's all well and good if you still have a chance. I can't see three worse teams than us. I'm not saying we're terrible. Just not good enough to get wins on the board.
I've not given up hope as yet. We need a win from one of the next two home games though, otherwise it will be more of an uphill struggle. Quite fancy us beating Derby.
I'm hoping it's just a case of finding our feet in the division. During the 2015/16 season even during the horror run the football was still quite good then it clicked. We might just need another moment like Hourihane's 96th minute equaliser against Sheff Utd to kick start our season. It needs to come soon though.
The thing that jumped off the page for me is this ............... “Age and experience are not as important as making sure we are getting in the right people to get points”. In other words - the strategy of bringing in JUST young players and developing them, looks like it’s going to be relaxed in the January Transfer Window.
