Got a few triers but that won’t keep us up sadly. The owners philosophy of buying young/cheap/unproven, rinse and repeat is looking more and more ineffective in the championship to me.
sounded like a good effort against a top 6 side. all the doom and gloom is a tad premature. encouraging signs from the last 3 games
Not necessarily but we lack goals and give them away, that to me equals relegation and that we aren’t good enough to stay in this league when it’s happening week after week as it has been for a month nearly now. It looks pretty clear to me, lots of effort but not enough quality shown from this young team to compete for enough points to stay up The owners plan is majorly flawed in the championship imho.
Again a decent performance but absolutely no real quality in our forward options. 4 goals in 8 games tells its own story. Been sold down the river by our transfer policy.
Losing 1-0 at Forest, who will be up there is not a bad result, I'd be more concerned if they'd blown us out of the water.
Barnsley 1-0 Fulham Excellent start what tha moaning abart its the best transfer window ever Sheffield W 2-0 Barnsley Aye reyt we always lose to these Barnsley 0-3 Carlisle Gerra grip its just cup Barnsley 2-2 Charlton Aye, should've won it n'all- very positive and we will finish well Birmingham 2-0 Barnsley C'mon nar, its a midweek game we're crap at them Barnsley 1-3 Luton Nay pal, they was just bitter cos they're ex players playing art their skin Wigan 0-0 Barnsley Basically a win this away from home- we'll definitely stay up Barnsley 0-2 Leeds Aye we lost bi 2 but did you see ar many chances we nearly scored? Nottingham Forest 1-0 Barnsley Sounded like a good effort against a top 6 side Losing 1-0 at Forest, who will be up there is not a bad result Best ever transfer window
im not a mathematician or a professor of algorithms. But 4 goals in 8 games = relegation . I feel sorry for the kids asked to do a man's job.
Us as paying fans are allowed to call it how we see it and if it’s negative then so be it It’s clear to see that this team is lacking championship experience. Stendel said it all along The transfer policy has massive flaws in it. It only works in my opinion if you replace with better ready made players but they don’t come cheap and as we found in this window, the board are not willing to pay more than they deem acceptable - we never replaced Moore and it’s telling I’ve no doubt that this team has potential but that’s it on current form. We as fans only call it how we see it. The results haven’t reflected the performances and this is hard to stomach. We’ve been outdone by smarter older more experienced players and this is exactly what we’re crying out for if we’re to stay in this league. It’s okay saying we played well in this or that game and it’s been encouraging but how long can you keep saying that before it’s too late? Board needs to put their hands in their pockets or it’s another embarrassing campaign in my eyes
On the plus side, I quite like L1. We are a classic case of being too good for the third tier & not good enough for the championship. We can't match the spending of most of the clubs in this division, it is always going to be a struggle. That said, you never know we might stay up by the skin of our teeth.
We will always be too good for L1 and just not good enough for the championship it will always be like that until our transfer policy changes.
The issues is not resolved by an increase of 5,000 on the gate. Although a significant boost the extra revenue is around £1m a year or a little bit more. In stark terms that’s less than half of the annual salary of some of our rivals top earners. Until FFP bites or we have owners who want to put money in to the club we can’t compete at this level.
We've been in the second tier more than any other club, but now for some reason it's our premier league. I, like thousands of other fans of my age have seen it all before . Don't get your hopes up too high , it makes the constant defeats easier to handle . I like the new owners but I ******* hate them n'all.
Replacing your best players with inexperience and promising. youngsters, sounds great, they will be our next hero's etc etc but unfortunately that will take time and coaching and the second they are good enough, they WILL be sold. Im grudgingly accepting this is what we do to survive but this division is packed full of prem wannabes and experience. I feel sorry for our coach, who i believe is very good (imho) but its a massive ask for us to be competitive at this level. The best we can hope for is half the clubs go bust or fall foul of FFP but those rules are a joke, i really hope thats not our big plan anyway!!
