To be honest Mads I'm dreading tomorrow, best team in the league up until December. A club like that won't be in this division much longer a real sleeping giant, not like Forest, Wednesday etc.. and if they went up I'd expect them to soon be challenging for the top six.

Biggest challenge of your career kid.

You sound like you should be sitting in the away end tomorrow.

I'm a realist and not a bitter 70s kids, l don't like the ******** don't get me wrong but I appreciate the size of their club and the challenge we're up against.

I agree with that apart from the top 6 bit Newcastle are just a big club with a bigger fan base and they are no where near top 6. Takes alot to get in the top 6 of the premiership.

They've never been near the semis of the Champions League or the old European Cup final though or ever had the history that Leeds had in the 60s/70s. They have the crowds and that's about it. Bit of an enigma are Newcastle, in fact their honours list is pretty **** in comparison.

But their fanbase is much bigger than Leeds’.
Not doubting that Leeds are a big club who should be in the top division but they’re donkeys years away from being back in and amongst the top six.
It’s bizarre that they’ve been out of the Premier League for 15 years but that’s probably reason enough to call them no bigger than Newcastle.

Maybe not but history is history and football has changed alot since then, for a club to come up from the championship and compete anywhere near liverpool, mancity, united, arsenal, spurs and Chelsea would be a massive, massive achievement imo look at villa spent over 130 million on players and if they survive it will be a achievement.

Imagine if they did get in and then started getting the premiership money, frightening how big they could become.

Their fanbase isn’t bigger than Leeds ,
They have more capacity in the ground but that’s where it ends .
Leeds are absolutely massive in Ireland and have large fan clubs all over the world .
Not saying Newcastle havnt got foreign fan clubs but not ass much as Leeds .

Leeds weren't filling elland road before they were ***** it's only the past 2 seasons in the championship they have been able to, tell me what average Newcastle got in this league, they had more season ticket holders than the full capacity of elland road. Newcastle are a massive one city club with a very big catchment area.

Yeah leeds do have a large fan base abroad, but if they were both mid table in the championship newcastle would have the bigger attendances and sell more season tickets and previous seasons prove my point. And like I said Newcastle catchment area is massive further up than newcastle up the A1 there isnt a professional english team I don't think
